“The new world educational system recognizes that education is a universal right and hence enables students wherever they might be to have access to the means of innovation, creativity, acquisition of knowledge and expertise and the practice of responsibility. Since its inception, Qatar Foundation has been committed to providing world-class school curricula in order to materialize the vision of His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, stipulating that the future of the State of Qatar is based on the development of its most important resource, namely Qatari minds.

Qatar Foundation started its journey in 1995; and its earliest achievement was Qatar Academy-Doha. Pre-university education expanded later in Qatar Foundation to include seven academies and other educational programs, namely Qatar Academy-Al Wakra, Qatar Academy -Msheireb, Qatar Academy- Al Khor, Qatar Academy- Sidra, Qatar Leadership Academy, Al Awsaj Academy, and the Academic Bridge Program. Today, Qatar Foundation academies are proud that Qatari nationals represent the highest percentage of their students, accounting for more than 70% of the total number of students in 2013-2014. It is also the same percentage received by Qatar Leadership Academy in the same school year, making Qatari students represent the majority among the students of this academy.

The leading educational centers, operating under the umbrella of Pre-university Education in Qatar Foundation, strive to materialize Qatar Foundation’s message of unlocking human potential, by offering the best academic curricula in order to contribute to the dissemination of the culture of excellence and innovation. The centers also aim to upgrade the talents of students and prepare them for the university stage to study the disciplines that best suit Qatar’s needs, supplying the local job market with efficient and qualified young people for the sake of supporting the State’s efforts in moving Qatar to knowledge-based economy and achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.
