Doha British School

Our first school at Ain Khaled was opened as a nursery in 1997 and has grown to become a 3 to 18 school delivering the National Curriculum of England from Pre –school to IGCSE, BTEC, AS/A Level and International Baccalaureate Diploma. We opened our sister school at Al Wakra in 2015 and this has grown to accommodate more than 450 students from Pre-school to IGCSE.

Our schools are accredited by Qatar National School Accreditation (QNSA), Council of International Schools (CIS), British Schools of the Middle East (BSME), and British Schools Overseas (BSO). Our most recent inspection by BSO bestowed upon us the status of an OUTSTANDING school. A rare accolade indeed. The BSO report is available on this site for you to read.

Whilst we are proud of the recognition of these agencies, we will never be complacent. Our group of schools is expanding. We will be opening our third 3 to 18 school at Rawdat Al Hammama, a Doha suburb, in August 2021. We are building a new school in Al Wakra to open in 2022. So there are exciting times ahead for the family of DBS. We are a growing group of schools but we will always adhere to our Core Purpose which is: ‘to ensure the highest quality educational experience for all of our students regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, gender, ability or disability.' We base this on our conviction that all children can, need and want to learn’. Our commitment to that Core Purpose, and to our community of families, will never be compromised.

DBS is a proud member of the Artan Consulting and Educational Services (ACES), a private Education group which owns, manages and operates educational institutions in Qatar with the objective of fostering academic innovation and excellence.

In the latest inspection report of the British Schools Overseas (BSO), DBS received excellent and outstanding findings.

• Outstanding teaching and learning was observed in English, Mathematics, Geography, and Languages.
• The spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of pupils at DBS is outstanding.
• Excellent behaviour and relationships across the school.
• Reading is a key strength of the school. As a result, standards in reading and the communication skills of pupils are excellent throughout the school.
• Standards are in line and sometimes above UK standards.
• The curriculum is exceptional.
