Rain Trees, established here in Singapore in 1999, is an independent, international kindergarten, nursery & preschool that provides a fun, friendly and challenging environment for children in the age range of 18 months-6 years old. Our parents and children are mainly from the international community in Singapore.
Our aim to help each individual child enjoy learning in a safe and caring environment and as they progress through the school we prepare them for a seamless transition to an international school.
Rain Trees has always been been owned and managed by a combination of British and Singapore citizens. Over time we have modified the British based curriculum to meet the particular demands and needs of the international expatriate community in the Asia Pacific region. In addition to offering a modern topic based curriculum Rain Trees is noted for its small and family orientated environment which many parents prefer to be their child’s first school experience. At Rain Trees, the emphasis is on learning through play in an environment planned to stimulate independence, discovery and social interaction. Children are encouraged to help themselves and take initiative in order to develop self-esteem, social competence and become increasingly independent.
The learning and development of the children is not restricted to the internal setting of the classroom but extends to our large and safe outdoor play area. We view the external environment as another classroom. This allows the children to explore their surroundings and exercise their imagination.
All of the staff & management are committed to the continual development of the kindergarten – both in terms of constantly reviewing the curriculum and investing in the school’s education resources & physical infrastructure so that they can provide the best educational environment for the children.
Our approach is to foster a love of learning, problem solving, experimentation and inquisitiveness to provide a solid foundation for your child’s future. The emphasis is on learning through play in an environment planned to stimulate discovery, independence and social interaction. Children are encouraged to help themselves, take initiative and become increasingly independent in order to develop self-esteem and social competence. It is important that children develop a sense of trust and are comfortable in their environment.
The learning and development of the children is not just confined to the internal setting of the kindergarten but is extended to the large and safe outdoor play area. We view the external environment as another classroom. This allows the children to explore their surroundings and exercise their imagination.
At Rain Trees we value the close involvement of parents in school life. We work hard to develop strong relationships with our families and believe communication between home and school is the key to achieving this.
There are many well-documented advantages to parents playing an active role in the educational process of their children. So, if parents are able and have the time, we strongly urge them to get involved in any way they can; reading to the children, organising a craft activity, accompany a class trip, baking for a charity cake sale, or making costumes for a play or concert. There is always plenty going on, so keep an eye on class notice boards for updates. This should be fun and beneficial not only for the pupils, but also their parents!

We feel truly lucky that our child got to grow in Raintrees!. It’s a fun and nurturing environment that focuses on kids as individuals and we have literally seen our son blossom since starting there. Unparalleled outside space and their wonderful teachers truly make this a rare gem in Singapore.

Raintrees is such a fantastic school. My daughter adores it and we feel so comforted knowing she is in a safe, fun, nurturing environment every day. She always has so many stories and songs from her day and the teachers and staff are so amazing at keeping us parents updated and communication is fantastic. My baby will be joining in next year too, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice to send our little ones to Raintrees!

Rain Trees International is a truly wonderful school! The education environment is kind and caring, nurturing the full potential of each child. The staff is absolutely fantastic, from the friendliest admin staff I've ever encountered, to the passionate and enthusiastic teachers. Both my sons are at Rain Trees. My eldest son has been to several schools, as we have moved around a bit, and this is by far his favourite school. My younger son has just started and the transition has been a breeze. He already loves school! I highly recommend this school for those seeking excellent education in a nurturing and caring environment.

My little boy skips to school everyday, to be greeted by the most lovely people. He has gone from strength to strength at this gorgeous little school and we couldn’t recommend it more. His teachers are exceptional and the progress he has made, in all areas, is fantastic. Raintrees has surpassed our expectations.

Raintrees has a very natural, cosy community vibe. All staff are very supportive and experienced with helping children transition in to school life and resolving adjustment issues. It has been a wonderful start to school life for my child and I would (and do) recommend the school to everyone.

Raintrees is a wonderful nursery, my Son is so happy there and asks every day if he “is going to nursery today”, even on on weekends! The staff are so welcoming, very professional and highly experienced. The children are very happy and always have a wonderful time. We have been delighted with Raintrees for our little boy. Thank you Raintrees.

Rain Trees is an amazing nursery. My daughter, who is very timid by nature, started Butterflies in September and Miss Vicki, Miss Mel and Miss Winnie have been excellent in helping her settle. They have done a fantastic job creating a nurturing environment for her to thrive in.

Raintrees is a happy and caring Kindergarten. The teachers are fantastic and the classrooms and garden space are perfect for the children. Our son has been incredibly happy at Raintrees and we couldn't recommend it enough to other families.

We truly believe that Raintrees kindergarten is the best thing that happened to our family in Singapore, it might sound like an exaggeration, but it truly is. After much search for our Son's first school we found this school that immediately felt like home away from home. Starting from the first phone call to the school to book a visit and how welcoming & accommodating Ms Rohini was to our concerns, questions & time limitations right from day one till the last day we left the school. While this was the best first school for our son, we (as parents) also were fortunate to meet other families who are now some of our dearest friends. Raintrees Kindergarten's biggest asset is its people: 1- An outstanding team of teachers who are passionate about what they do, have the required experience, matched with the perfect balance between caring and teaching kids the right behaviour, social interactions as well as setting the right foundation for their academic future. 2- A fantastic Management who is genuinely involved and interested in the children and their families progress & well being. 3- Staff that are beyond expectation in their kindness, ethics and commitment. After 2.5 years, our son leaves his Raintrees family as a confident, inquisitive and happy boy and we couldn’t have asked for more.
