Established since 1986, the American International School of Hong Kong nurtures confident, caring, and well- rounded students, from early childhood through elementary, middle, and high school.
Our school emblem, the Eagle, is a universal symbol of strength, endurance and pride that unites everyone in our community under the motto: Justice, Knowledge and Love.
The American International School of Hong Kong is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and a long-standing member of the East Asia Regional Council of Schools, the American Chambers of Commerce, and College Board.
Our founder, Dr. Thomas Liang, believed in the power of education to change lives. In 1986, he established American International School (AIS) to give students a uniquely American international school experience that would prepare them for admission to schools, colleges, and universities in the United States and around the world. Forty (40) years later, our founding Core Values of Justice, Knowledge, and Love remain the hallmarks of an AIS education.
AlS is proud of its small-school feel and the shared sense of belonging amongst students, teachers, and parents. In addition to our rigorous academic program, we know our strong sense of family is important to current and prospective parents. Our 'through-train' school means that children in our Early Childhood and Elementary School are on the same campus as our Middle and High School students which fosters a deep sense of community and connectedness in our students.
Accelerated by new and emergent technologies, we are on an exciting journey to make school truly relevant for our students, fully aware that the educational landscape is changing. Our Future Framework brings into focus a set of values, skills, and competencies that shape how learning is designed at AlS, with its main focus on developing a key mindset — Confidence.
We are proud of our bold vision, of our 1:1 Bring Your Own Apple Device program, of our world class faculty, and of our outstanding student achievement. Above all, we are proud of our school community and genuinely excited about the future.
Students at AlS continue to demonstrate so many reasons to celebrate their diverse and impressive achievements. Our students consistently excel in academic, artistic, and athletic achievements that are recognized locally and internationally. As global citizens, effective communicators, empowered thinkers, and well-rounded individuals, their confidence, kindness, and creativity remain distinguishing outcomes of an education at AIS.
At AlS, we deliver a comprehensive and challenging academic program that fosters a love of learning and prepares students to meet the responsibilities and expectations of global citizenship. Our core values of Justice, Knowledge, and Love are the foundation upon which we design all of our learning experiences and how we build, confidence, character, and courage in each of our students - from our early learners to our upcoming graduates. Our caring culture is the cornerstone of school life, and, together with our core values and focus on creativity and innovation, we set our students up for success in a rapidly changing world.
AIS students participate in a wide range of innovative learning experiences and extra-curricular activities, facilitated by our dedicated teaching staff. The school also offers an extensive range of diverse opportunities for learning, including seasonal intermural and varsity sports, visual and performing arts, and special interest clubs including Model United Nations, Global Issues, and student government. Our active Parent Teacher Advisory (PTA) ensures that our parents remain partners in their childrens' learning.
Above all else, AlS is a place where students make wonderful friendships and memories that last a lifetime. I invite you to come and visit us. Once you see what we have to offer, I am confident that you will want to become a part of our amazing learning community.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
I am pleased with my boy's experience at AIS over the past 3 years. He genuinely loves going to school! When the school decided to become an Apple Distinguished School about 2-3 years ago, I had concerns about screen time, both at school and at home. However, I have been pleasantly surprised. My son has developed a wonderful reading habit; whenever he has free time, he naturally picks up a book. He does use his iPad for homework and games, but I think it is acceptable.
One of the key reasons we chose AIS was the staff. You can see their genuine care for the students, and I was right. The school fosters a nurturing community, and both the teachers and the staff are truly amazing.

We are happy to join this private school tour, in which Yee Fei and us can have the chance to experience the real lessons, seeing how the teachers and students are communicating. The introduction of the campus and facilities, together with the explanations of school life and part of the core values of AIS also enlightened us to understand the school more.

My son, Ryan, was a middle school student at AIS years ago. Those were some of the most important years of Ryan's life when he started to develop quickly intellectually and physically through school activities such as battle of books, swimming and robotics competitions. Even though Ryan had to move to the U.S. to seek medical treatment later on, he remembers those years at AIS fondly, participle Mr.Post. I want to thank Mr. Post personally for his support for Ryan when Ryan was ill and for his dedication to the AIS community.

I have been to many schools both in China and Europe and AIS is absolutely one of the best. The teachers are warm, friendly and professional. They are dedicated to the teaching and they really care about each student's development. Due to very authentic western and international context, the relationship between the school and families is very close. As a result, the students are happy, independent and confident. All in all, a school where I enjoyed working and I would like to send my daughter to.

My child recently joined AIS, he is excited to go to school everyday. Within a few months, he becomes more confident, especially with his verbal English. The Principal and teachers are nice. Admissions are very helpful with our questions. We are happy with AIS and would recommend to families.

Attended a course briefing in February, followed by a campus visit. I had so much fun watching the kindergarten students taking recess. During the visit, the principal asked the students to introduce themselves. Most of the students were not afraid of being ugly and spoke fluent English.
