JAMK University of Applied Sciences is one of Finland’s most popular universities of applied sciences, and 2013 has been a year of success for us. We work actively for the development of Central Finland, and co-operation with local companies and other actors is part of our everyday work.

We are increasingly investing in entrepreneurship: The JAMK Generator team supports enthusiastic entrepreneurs from the innovation phase up to establishing a company. New companies are now being established at a rate of 20 per year. Students who started this autumn have taken the five-credit Entrepreneurship and Innovation course. Some of the knowledge we share comes all the way from Silicon Valley!

Good quality of learning from the viewpoint of both students and working life is vital for the success of a university. We measure it continuously, and the results have been excellent. This year’s milestones in quality of learning were the international audit of JAMK’s quality system and the EPAS accreditation of our International Business programme. These recognitions show that JAMK’s quality of training is excellent, even on an international scale.

JAMK is also a strong international actor. We have almost 300 university partners around the world. Internationalisation shows in Finland, too, with about 1,000 foreign students and specialists present on our campuses every day.

Favourable winds are blowing in education exports. International teacher education has been carried out in Russia, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Egypt and Nepal. JAMK’s nurse training has aroused international interest. Co-operation in China will begin in early 2014.

JAMK University of Applied Sciences is an international higher education institution with expertise in 8 different fields of study. We are your global partner whether you want to develop individuals in your organisation or an entire education system. Furthermore, JAMK is an excellent partner in academic staff and student mobility.
