Since its creation, the University of La Rochelle has confirmed its international dimension by setting up and developing its curricula in the context of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and by concentrating its resources on two main priorities : Asia-Pacific and the Americas.

This international dimension is at the very heart of the image of this unique environment: La Rochelle harbour, traditionally a hub of exchange with the world, inspires the University to intensive international activity, and this activity is supported by the local government.

Today, thanks to this presence on the international scene, 140 European and international agreements have been signed. The university participates in various European programs related to training and research, and in the institutional network CREPUQ (University Presidents Conference in Quebec); it is also a member of the AUF (National Agency of Francophonie) and of the Campus France agency.

The University of La Rochelle participates in a cooperation program with other Universities in France. This helps to raise its profile, leads to development through shared experiences, strengthens its teaching and scientific policies and also leads to innovation, notably in information technologies.
