Practice-orientation, internationalization (focusing on India) and the intelligent use of resources (focusing on indoor climate systems / water) are at the heart of teaching and research at Hof University, which currently offers 28 bachelor and master degree programs in Business, Computing and Engineering. Our campus in Münchberg offers a unique education in Germany because of the relationship between the economy and the Textile and Design programs. Companies of upper Franconia also benefit from the centers of excellence and institutes at the University. The three research institutes concentrate on information systems, materials science and water and energy management. The Institute for Continuing Education offers both full-time and part-time degree programs. The Bavarian-Indian Centre for Business and University Cooperation, which is affiliated to the University, boosts cooperation between Bavaria and India.

Our modern bachelor's and master's programs in the departments of Business, Computer Science and Engineering meet the demands of the industry. We are known for our friendly study atmosphere. Communication between students and professors is frequent and without complications. With a comfortable student-lecturer ratio, students get intensive personal support during their studies.

As a University of Applied Sciences, we pay special attention to the practical orientation of all courses and assignments. Our professors have profound experience both in industry and in academia.

In addition to our brand-new campus in Hof, we have a second campus located in Münchberg, a town about 20 kilometers south of Hof with a history of textile production dating back more than 150 years. Our Innovative Textiles and Textile Design degree programs are unique in all of Bavaria. Today, new computer technologies and modern machinery, as well as multimedia presentation of textile products are integral parts of these degree programs.

The study of Business Administration empowers you to develop solutions in all economic and administrative areas on the basis of scientific knowledge. You should have the ability to support the management on different business areas. After a familiarization period you should be able to undertake managerial functions in economy and administration, respectively to work on an entrepreneurial or freelance basis.

A dedicated team of professors and lecturers offer basic knowledge and practical solutions based on the current events of professional practice in the areas of principles and advancement. In addition to providing professional knowledge, imparting key qualifications is as well encouraged. A business language has to be chosen as a foreign language. The practical study semester is integrated in the course of study; however, the learning location is displaced from the university to the company. This practice time of almost half a year is appreciated by many companies and therefore, a significant advantage over university study programs.

More than eight years ago, the University of Hof began to orientate themselves in their internationalization efforts towards India. Since 2011, the India focus is now firmly anchored in the mission statement of this educational institution. Economic relations between Germany and India have intensified in recent years. Both countries see themselves as close partners. However, the cultural differences are notable. Cross-cultural misunderstandings constitute a major barrier in German-Indian business contacts. Professionals and managers, who move competently in both cultures, are increasingly needed in the future.

As of the summer semester 2014, the University of Hof offers students of the bachelor degree programs Business Administration and Business Law this new two-semester study focus on India, among others, in cooperation with the Nirma University in Ahmedabad and the National Law School of India University in Bangalore.

We are actually offering 28 study programs in the Engineering Department, Business Department and Department of Computer Science. Our main purpose is to initiate and to organize applied studies and learning processes.

The consolidated knowledge at our university, the continuous inclusion of the latest state of the art in research and development can be used by your organization.
