Values, Vision, Ethos
My vision for Bickley is that we are an outstanding school where pupils and adults have a thirst for learning and leave with the skills and knowledge needed to continue to the next stage of life successfully and happily.
Bickley Primary school is a popular and over-subscribed school where children are happy and achieve well. The high quality of teaching and learning leads to consistently high levels of attainment, and children of all abilities and backgrounds are welcomed and nurtured. The school motto is:All different - All equal - All achieve
This permeates everything we do at school. Our main purpose is to ensure that the uniqueness of every child is celebrated and factored into the teaching and learning opportunities, enabling everyone to succeed.
Kindness is a quality that is expected and celebrated across the school, and visitors often comment on how evident the focus on this quality is.
The staff and children work hard to develop and demonstrate our school values, which are:
At Bickley, we pride ourselves on having a broad and balanced curriculum that provides opportunities for specific talents in areas such as music, sport and art to be identified and nurtured. We have a wide range of before school, lunchtime and after school clubs and participate in many sporting and music events.
We have identified a set of learning skills that we consider to be the building blocks for lifelong learning:
Bickley Primary School is set on extensive grounds and our children benefit greatly from the space and facilities on offer for sports and outdoor learning. We are lucky to have supportive parents and governors and welcome and encourage parents to come in and support and share their skills.
Values, Vision, Ethos
My vision for Bickley is that we are an outstanding school where pupils and adults have a thirst for learning and leave with the skills and knowledge needed to continue to the next stage of life successfully and happily.
Behind that is the belief that we are all different, we are all equal and we will all achieve and that we all need to invest in lifelong learning if we are to be successful and fulfilled.
Equality Statement
Nexus Education Schools Trust is steadfast in its commitment to standing up against all forms of racism and social injustice.
Our school curricula and expectations help children to make sense of issues and inequalities in the world and we do not accept any behaviour that makes anyone else feel unsafe, unequal or unimportant.
School staff and communities help to shape the views and develop the knowledge and understanding of the next generation and we believe that our schools and settings are key to tackling discrimination. We are fully committed to ensuring our pupils are inclusive, respectful and active global citizens and we will continue to review and reshape our curricula to reflect our diverse and multicultural society and tackle bigotry, inequality and bias.
Schools across the Trust regularly review their curricula, educational resources, staff training, and policies and procedures to ensure they reflect and represent a positive perspective. This supports our children to become advocates for equality, diversity and inclusion. We have made much progress in ensuring all schools have a curriculum of equality, but we also know that there is always more to be done.
