We will do this by:

• Ensuring there is an innovative and investigative approach to teaching.
• Creating an ethos of support, challenge and encouragement to succeed.
• Developing a curriculum that is broad, balanced yet challenging and also reflects our local community as well as a global dimension.
• Providing a varied, creative range of up to date resources to enable children to understand and explore the changing world of technology.
• Offering an enriching programme of schools trips/ visitors to the school and extra-curricular activities.
• Creating effective working partnerships between home, school and the wider community.

At Upland school we are proud to deliver an exciting, enriching and well rounded curriculum. Our Teaching and Learning Handbook, brings together our expectations of how the Upland Curriculum should be delivered.

We ensure that when our pupils leave in year 6, they leave with the behaviours (our Personal Attributes) that they need to succeed in the world such as: resilience and determination, team work, responsibility, independence and confidence, creativity, pride, and personal safety and well-being as well as the appropriate subject specific knowledge, skills and understanding as set out in the National Curriculum. Layering knowledge across subjects so that it becomes embedded and children can flourish, reach and exceed their potential academically, physically, emotionally and artistically.
