Hayes School

Hayes School is an extremely successful, oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational school with excellent accommodation and facilities, set in very attractive grounds. In June 2013 Hayes School was inspected by Ofsted. In their report, the inspectors summarised their main findings:

• Exceptional leadership by the Principal and Head of School has ensured that the school has gone from strength to strength.
• Outstanding teaching over time ensures that all groups of students make excellent progress.
• Staff are relentless in their determination that all students should excel regardless of their starting points or personal circumstances.
• Students’ behaviour is exemplary. They are polite, well mannered and proud of their school.
• Teaching, the curriculum and pastoral support meet the needs of all groups of students extremely well.
• The curriculum is exciting and innovative, enriched by a superb programme of extra-curricular activities and a rich programme of visits.
• The Sixth Form is outstanding.

‘Students make outstanding progress across a wide range of subjects’ Ofsted 2013. Examination results at GCSE and A level have shown a continuous year on year improvement. In 2013 students achieved the best ever exam results at GCSE and A-Level. 82% of students achieved 5A*-C grades at GCSE including English and Maths and 56% A*-B grades at A-Level. Our Sixth Form of 445 is heavily oversubscribed.

Ofsted judged the Sixth Form to be outstanding. Hayes, however, is not complacent. We strive continually to improve our provision for all students, and for staff development; no stone is left unturned in the drive for excellence. We judge everything we do by asking ‘Would this be good enough for my child?’ Each member of staff goes the extra mile to challenge, support and provide opportunities for every child. In this way, the school motto, ‘Excellence through Endeavour’ is at the heart of all we do.
