Welcome to St Aidan’s Catholic Primary School, a happy and successful school, committed to providing the highest quality of education within a strong Catholic context. Our pupils are proud of their school and when they leave here they are confidently able to contribute to society as good and responsible citizens, who are proud of their Catholic faith.

We offer a vibrant, exciting and inclusive all round education. Our dedicated staff inspire and nurture the children, and instil a life-long love of learning. We welcome parents as partners in their children's education, for it is only through true partnership that we can do the very best for your child.

St. Aidan’s is a small Catholic primary school situated in Croydon on the borders of Surrey and Sutton. We currently have 222 children on roll from Reception to Year 6. While the majority of our pupils belong to our two official feeder parishes, St Aidan’s and St Mary’s Help of Christians, we are home to a number of pupils from surrounding parishes and a small number of pupils of other faiths.

Governors, parents and staff work closely together with the children at the centre of our partnership. We believe that is the key to our success. We encourage our pupils to work hard, care for their school environment and respect one another. They are happy to come to school and behave well.

We work closely with other schools in our immediate locality and belong to the Croydon Catholic Primary Schools Umbrella Trust.

Aims and Values
The values of our Catholic school are rooted in the teaching of Christ, and provide a basis for high standards in our academic aims as well as in our moral life.

Mission Statement
"Living and growing in Christ" Christ’s ministry, as recounted in the Gospels, and the values he promoted through his teachings are fundamental to the life of our school in fulfilling its purpose as a Catholic institution.

  • This is reflected in our Collective Worship, our teaching and learning and the way in which we treat one another.
  • Living and growing in Christ, the children are at the centre of all that we do and their potential to achieve is recognised. Their time in our school is characterised by a sense of belonging, security, challenge and appreciation.
  • At St. Aidan’s we seek to work together with parents, parishes and the local community to create an environment where we can all grow together, feel valued and develop self-esteem and a sense of responsibility.
  • We aim to be a worshipping, celebrating, reconciling school, living and growing with Christ.
