Welcome to Harmood School (previously known as part of Camden Centre for Learning).

• At Harmood School, we're dedicated to understanding every one of our young people, helping each student achieve their best – whatever their starting point.
• As a special school, we understand that all our students are individuals with their own unique strengths as well as their own social, emotional and mental health needs. We want all our students to become confident young people, so we place a strong focus on developing their social and personal skills and consider this as important as their academic learning.
• We treat all our students with warmth and follow a nurture approach with 4 main principles. Our bright and inviting environment helps to settle students so they can learn more easily. Our clear systems and procedures make it easy for our young people to understand what's expected and how to succeed. We work hard to develop strong and lasting relationships with each student. And our culture of encouragement and reward helps them enjoy school life, builds self-belief and inspires them to do well.
• Some of our students may have had a difficult time in their previous schools; here at Harmood School we'll make sure they thrive. They'll start off with a tailored induction plan to help them settle in with confidence. They'll have their own personal mentor, chosen to be just the right person to answer their questions, offer guidance and support them. And in addition to their academic lessons, they'll have wonderful creative therapies like Art, Equine Therapy and Music to help them unwind and enjoy taking part in school life.
• We'll support your family too – listening to any worries you may have, giving you regular positive news about your child, and offering extra support through our multi-agency team which includes a youth worker, family worker and social worker. (You can find out more about them on the link here.)
