At Ark John Keats Academy, our nursery teachers work together to foster a love of learning for all children. We believe in creating a safe, stimulating and exciting environment that builds on each individuals wants, needs and interests.
Our nursery provides a friendly, welcoming environment for all our infants from ages 3 and up - and a perfect start ahead of primary school. We offer free morning or afternoon sessions, Monday to Friday, for three hours each. Our morning sessions run from 8:25-11:25 and our afternoon sessions are 12:25-15:25. Both sessions include food and water as a mid-session snack.
We deliver a rich and diverse curriculum of structured and focused activities alongside child-initiated, play-based learning. We use Circle Time and a range of inspiring stories to encourage personal and emotional growth, enabling children to develop strong and meaningful relationships with adults and their peers. We want children to be happy, confident and independent learners who leave our Early Years as resilient, reflective and respectful individuals with a passion for learning.
Our academy is defined by its high expectations of, and belief in, all our pupils. We teach a curriculum that enables all children to make rapid academic progress across a range of subject areas, with a particular emphasis on reading, writing and numeracy. Our staff are highly skilled in ensuring children reach their potential, and in making their learning challenging, rigorous and joyful. We place great emphasis on our values of kindness, effort, aspiration, and tenacity. Throughout their time at school, we help our pupils exemplify the habits that come from these values.
The academy has a very calm and purposeful environment; we believe good discipline is essential for all children to learn effectively. We also believe enrichment is important and provide many opportunities for pupils to develop their knowledge of the world and broaden their horizons. We are all committed to giving our pupils the best possible start in life in a brilliant all-through school that the community of Enfield can be proud of.
We are a school where both staff and pupils can flourish within a supportive, aspirational and disciplined environment. As a community of professionals, pupils and parents we are ambitious about what we can achieve as we work together to build an exceptional school. The school is built on six pillars as the foundation of an excellent education, developing confident, articulate, culturally aware young adults.
Strong discipline is at the heart of our school, providing the calm and focused environment that allows pupils to learn, show and receive respect, and to develop the behaviours that will enable them to play a full role in society. We teach discipline because we recognise the long-term benefits of having high levels of self-discipline and also because without a disciplined environment, children cannot learn.
Our teachers are subject experts with an excellent understanding of the intellectual journey they are taking their pupils on. Our curriculum is planned backwards from university in each subject area, ensuring pupils have mastered key learning before progressing. It is a knowledge rich curriculum where the content pupils are learning is as important as the skills they are acquiring. This means that pupils are developing a solid framework of understanding and set of skills that support all future learning in that subject area.
We use our interactions with pupils to raise aspirations. Through lessons, tutoring and informal discussions, we introduce and discuss aspirational role models, current affairs, further study, university and careers. We continually support pupils to think more deeply and more broadly about the world around them, their role in it and the opportunities it presents.
Our staff are very well set up to deliver on our six pillars through the organisation of the school and the time invested in development. This development supports staff to achieve mastery in all aspects of their practice and prepares them for the next stage of their career. We are very excited about the future of our school and the potential of our pupils. If you would like to organise a visit, or would like more information about the school, please do send us a message.
As a school we are extremely aspirational for all our pupils and our sixth form has been designed with this in mind. Academic in nature, our sixth form is committed to ensuring our pupils achieve outstanding results so that they are able to secure a place at a top university or higher apprenticeship and become leaders in their chosen field.
We will ensure that our pupils:have the knowledge and support they need to make the best choices for their futuresecure the place they deserve at the institution of their choicehave the developed character and well-rounded education to succeed when they get there Achieving outstanding results requires a curriculum that has been rigorously planned by subject experts. Our primary and second curriculum was graded as good in our most recent Ofsted inspection and has been used as a case study to share excellent practice amongst schools. Our key stage 5 curriculum builds on this success. It has been designed around the principles of mastery and will prepare our pupils exceptionally well for further study. Excellent teaching is at the heart of what we do. The majority of our teaching staff attended Russell Group universities and are extremely well equipped to prepare our pupils for higher education.
We understand that developing leaders requires more than academic success. As such, we develop the global, cultural and political literacy of our pupils through weekly Character lessons, to ensure they are prepared to meet the challenges that await them at university and beyond. We offer our pupils a range of enrichment and leadership opportunities across the school, through sports, the creative and performing arts, debating and STEM.
We also offer work readiness programmes to prepare our pupils for the competitive nature of the world of work. We teach our pupils to write personal statements and CVs, prepare for an interview and interact with professionals from a variety of industries. As a school, we already have excellent links with a number of universities.

My two youngest sons attend the primary school. I would never have thought that my youngest son whom had problems when he was born, would be anywhere near he is with his education than he is today.
And it is all down to the staff at Ark John Keats Academy, who have helped us get him were he is today. (Thank you). And also for our older son who has been to a couple of schools, he is progressing so well within his education. Yes they are strength and striked, but they do things how they should be done.
With Our boys, They both have made us so very proud. I would recommend this school to anyone.

It's awful, the teachers are good pretenders . The children don't study , no consistence in teachers because if children's behaviours. If you love your child and want him/her to progress, find somewhere else.
