Worcesters is a community mixed Primary and Nursery School taking children from 3-11 years.

Worcesters is a happy, vibrant, inclusive school set in extensive grounds where children can develop into independent learners. At Worcesters, we work to ensure that your child feels secure in the caring environment which we endeavour to create at all times. We value parent contributions and hope that the partnership between home and school will provide a strong foundation for all pupils to grow and develop to their full potential.

At present, we have the capacity to take on 630 children on roll with an additional 60 children in the nursery. The children are grouped according to age. When the children start in Reception, those children transferring from the nursery classes are split as a group between the three reception classes and new children are welcomed to the new groups.

Classes are mixed at the end of reception before pupils move up into year 1. In this way we can ensure that classes are balanced with regard to gender and ability. Parents are part of the consultation process and children’s friendships are taken into account when the new classes are organised. This process is repeated in year 2 and 5.

Our website provides you with all the information you need about our school. Please contact the school office if you need us to print any section of the website for you.

The nursery class has a series of open days in the summer term when parents and children are invited to joint sessions, so that everyone can become familiar with the school and the staff.

It would be helpful if children coming new to the school could do the following:

  • Dress and undress.
  • Remove outdoor things and hang them on a peg.
  • Use a knife and fork.
  • Use the toilet properly.
  • Wash and dry hands efficiently.
  • Tidy up after using toys, apparatus and books.

In the Summer Term before the children transfer to Reception, they are familiarised with the Reception routines and staff in order to ensure a smooth transition. The children initially attend Reception part-time, for the first week they will attend for either the morning or afternoon, for the second week they will all come in the morning and stay for lunch for three days and by the fourth day they will stay for the whole day where appropriate.

We have a policy for Early Years Education which outlines the school’s approach to the curriculum appropriate for young children. It is available to parents on request.

I would definitely recommend this school. it is absolutely amazing school. It has changed the attitude of just thinking about school to all 4 of my daughters and they've learnt stuff they never knew before. They have a positive new life.
