We have a clear motto for our children: “Together we reach for our personal best.” Through our broad, balanced and inspiring curriculum, we prepare pupils to thrive successfully as citizens in the modern world.
We pride ourselves on having dedicated staff who share the common goal of developing children’s academic abilities and life skills through engaging and inspiring lessons. It is a pleasure to see children engaged in their learning in every classroom.
At Newtons Primary School, education is about every child reaching their full potential, socially and academically. It is about ensuring that each child is cherished, supported and empowered to achieve. We promote social awareness and provide clear moral guidance.
We never underestimate the important role we play in your child’s life and therefore strive to make each day the best it can possibly be. We look forward to welcoming you to our school community and working in partnership with you to ensure that your child reaches their personal best!
We offer an exceptionally nurturing environment to help children develop the skills and knowledge they need to progress in their education and beyond.
Our pupils learn how to lead a healthy lifestyle. Pupils take part in a wide range of sporting activities both during lessons and extra curricular clubs, including a very popular ballroom dancing club. We have a P.E. specialist teacher who works for 2 days per week taking each class for a P.E. session. She has introduced many new sports to the school, including boccia.
Pupils are taught how to adopt safe practices in all of their lessons. We have theatre companies who visit to reinforce road safety. Children in Years 5 and 6 are offered Cycle Training. If they pass Level 2 they are allowed to cycle to school.
We offer a wide and varied curriculum. Our curriculum is enriched by visitors to school and the trips that different year groups undertake. We value the importance of the Arts. Every child in Years 2 and 3 learn to play the violin at no cost to parents. Children who show aptitude and enjoyment may continue playing the violin to the end of Year 6.
We have strong links with the local community. We entertain elderly residents at the local community centre at Christmas and sing carols on the Orchard Village Estate. We have many fund-raising projects throughout the year and we look at the work of different charities.
The Growing Together Federation is made up of two schools - Crowlands Primary School and Newtons Primary School in the London Borough of Havering.
Our vision for all of our children is to enable them to succeed and be proud of their achievements. To enable children to reach their personal best within a respectful, safe and inclusive atmosphere that is welcoming, fun, friendly and safe. Children are enabled to develop curiosity and creativity through an inspiring, engaging and challenging curriculum, where learning together and growing together is at the heart of all that we do. Our children will gain the skills and knowledge required in order to thrive in their next steps in education and beyond. We intend that all children will enjoy their learning, achieve their potential and become independent life-long learners.
