Our school vision:
A broad and balanced curriculum is offered to all of our students: underpinned by the academic core of subjects (English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Languages), learning is enhanced by the study of the Arts, computing, technology and physical education, offering our students a course of study in which academic rigour fully prepares them for further education and university.
In Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 & 9), students study English, Mathematics, Science, the Arts (Art, Dance, Drama, Media and Music), Humanities (History, Geography, Religious Education), a Modern Foreign Language (French or Spanish), Design Technology, ICT and Physical Education as well as PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education). Many students take GCSEs early which increases their motivation and self-belief.
In Key Stage 4 (Years 10 & 11), all pupils follow an academic core GCSE pathway and then have an enrichment of a choice of subjects from the Arts and Media field. 98% of our pupils go onto further education stuyding A-level at college.
Every single one of our pupils has a guaranteed place at the City and Islington College which is our dedicated sixth form and Academic Partner. They offer a multitude of courses including A-levels, Btec Nationals and work based training.
“We achieve excellent academic results year on year for our students, with almost 1500 progressing on to higher education, and create pathways to careers for people of all ages. That is why we are the first choice Further Education College for thousands of young people and adults across London.
With our unique identity, we deliver high quality learning experiences for our students. We encourage them to achieve their ambitions, expand their horizons and grow as individuals. Many of the achievements made by our students are incredible and out of the ordinary.
Through our program of assemblies and PSHE we explicitly teach the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
To ensure PSHE is we delivered effectively we work in partnership with Islington Healthy Schools Team, PULSE, Islington Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Service and Legal & General Finance Volunteers. We are a member of the PSHE Association.
Make sure your child is getting the most out of school by attending some of the fantastic FREE clubs and activities at lunchtime and after school.
Many of our students feel that, despite living in one of the world’s greatest cities, they don’t get enough opportunities to get out and explore what London has to offer. At Arts & Media School we consider it an important privilege that we are a school in this great city and that our students should be given as many chances as possible to explore it and see it beyond the local boroughs.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
I was a student at Islington Arts and Media School 4 years ago. The teachers are very good at teaching and they are very determined to make sure all the students pass and to succeed.
