St. Andrew’s is a one-form-entry Primary School in the heart of Uxbridge. We are a Voluntary Aided Church School which means we work in close partnership with the London Diocesan Board for Schools and the London Borough of Hillingdon to provide an excellent education for children from Nursery age through to Year 6.
Our Nursery welcomes children from the age of 3 on a part-time or full-time basis. We have spaces for up to 26 Nursery children. There are 30 places in each of the classes from Reception up to and including Year 6. As a Church School, our Admissions Criteria allows for 28 Foundation places and 2 Open places for each year. Please see our Admissions Policy for further details.
Parents are always welcome to visit the school, meet the Head Teacher and see our children in action! Please telephone the school to arrange an appointment. At St. Andrew’s our aim is to create an environment which reflects Christian beliefs and values and promotes high quality learning and teaching. We hope that your association with St. Andrew’s will be a happy and successful one.
At St. Andrew’s we are firmly committed to all issues concerned with Safeguarding and Child Protection. We have a Child Protection Safeguarding Policy which can be found on the SCHOOL POLICIES PAGE. We work with the Hillingdon Borough LSCB (Local Safeguarding Children Board) and follow the London Child Protection Procedures. The Head Teacher is the Designated Safeguarding Lead in school.
St. Andrew’s has a high regard for the need to be vigilant in respect of security. All visitors, including parents, are expected to sign the Visitors’ Book in the school office and to enter school via the main entrance using the intercom system. No one is allowed to move unescorted around the school without the approval of the Head Teacher.
Although based in a busy part of Greater London, the surrounding trees and greenery provide a pleasant setting that enhances our provision for children. The grounds include a large grassed field; separate playgrounds for EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2; a woodland area, a prayer garden and an allotment space which is looked after by members of the school gardening club.
All classes have access to the Music Room, laptop computers and the Library. All classrooms are fitted with interactive white boards, and children use laptops in class when taking part in ICT. There are also a number of small areas and rooms where children can work in small groups under the supervision of a Teaching Assistant. We have a school hall which is used for assemblies, serving lunch and for PE lessons. The large playground and field area is also used for PE and outdoor learning. Each class has an IPad for gathering evidence of learning and accessing Class Dojo.
