Trinity Academy’s distinctive ethos is rooted in our clear and timeless values of wisdom, fairness, courage and self-discipline. As part of the outstanding Future Academies family of schools, Trinity Academy’s prime focus is on setting and achieving aspirational and rigorous educational standards. To that end, we offer pupils of all abilities a style of education based on academic rigour more usually found in grammar schools or the independent sector.

We take learning seriously and base our teaching on the science behind it. Exemplary knowledge-rich teaching and learning drives everything we do and is underpinned by what is proven to work best in the classroom, using resources exclusively developed by the Future Academies Curriculum Centre. Trinity teachers are highly qualified and passionate subject specialists who take part in on-going professional development to develop their expertise further. Our class sizes are kept small with a maximum of 26 pupils so that teachers and form tutors can closely monitor every pupil’s academic and pastoral progress and personal development.

Our broad and deep curriculum is strongly grounded in the academic Ebacc subjects and is complemented by the study of Latin and an exceptionally full range of creative subjects (art, music, drama and food & nutrition) in Year 7 and beyond. We focus across the curriculum on grammar and vocabulary in order to develop our pupils’ full powers of written and spoken expression and self-confidence. Our Sixth Form offers the full range of academic A levels, including economics and psychology, that all lead to degree-level study at top universities.

We believe that education is about more than just preparation for the world of work; an excellent, rounded education is valuable in itself and brings with it the all-empowering cultural capital. We therefore ensure that all our pupils take part in a wide range of enrichment activities and educational trips to develop their creative, sporting, intellectual and cultural abilities and interests.

Trinity provides a welcoming, safe and stimulating learning environment for all its pupils. Our pastoral care and pupil wellbeing provision, where every pupil is known and nurtured as an individual, are integral to this rounded, holistic approach to education. Our explicitly high expectations around routines and pupil conduct ensure that precious time in school is valued and everyone is treated with respect. The highest standards of conduct are expected of everyone and visitors often comment on the prevailing purposeful and orderly atmosphere.

Our school is a true community of pupils, teachers, parents and friends who work and learn together within a compassionate culture where each person takes responsibility for themselves and their neighbour. Through a rigorous academic curriculum, rooted in high expectations and a ‘no excuses’ approach, every young person is given a world-class education. This will give them the opportunity to be the very best they can be in all aspects of their lives.

Our values underpin everything that we do as a school

  • Wisdom – the ability to make right judgements.
  • Fairness – to seek justice and to give everyone their rightful due.
  • Courage – to overcome our fears and remain steady in the face of obstacles.
  • Self-Discipline – the practice of self-control and moderation.

The school’s vision and values are founded on the Cardinal Virtues of Prudence, Justice, Fortitude and Temperance and draw inspiration from the Catholic Faith and Catholic educational tradition in order to prepare our pupils for a life of service to the common good.

Trinity Academy is committed to making a significant contribution to developing educational excellence in South West London by being in the vanguard of rigorous and innovative teaching and learning practice; by attending scrupulously to the spiritual, moral, social, intellectual and physical development of every pupil; and by creating an inclusive, safe environment in which pupils grow into independent, self-confident young adults ready to contribute to society and continue along their individual paths of learning.
