Newport was built in 1883 as an Infant and Junior school and was amalgamated in 2004 into a full primary school. The school is located over three sites; the main school site (Reception to Year 6) and a Nursery and Nature reserve which are a short distance from the main school building. In 2011 Newport School increased in size and was converted into a 4 form entry school. The school serves a diverse population; pupils come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds of which a large majority, are of Asian British/Pakistani heritage. The pupils, parents and staff work very well together to make the school a positive and happy place to be. Children tell us that they love coming to school. Since September 2009 the school has been on a journey of rapid improvement, moving from Special Measures to an Ofsted judgement of Outstanding, awarded in June 2013.
At Newport, we believe that all pupils deserve high quality education which engages, inspires and challenges; so that everyone meets their full potential. We strive to create a safe and happy learning environment which promotes independence and high expectations of all. We are committed to providing opportunities which promote open mindedness, empathy and celebration of the rich and diverse community which we serve; so that everyone is able to contribute positively to society. We are dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyle choices so that our pupils develop physically, emotionally and morally. We are determined that our pupils will be successful and will leave us as confident, highly educated members of the community.

There Is Very Delicious Food There, I Would Recommend This Good Quality School To People Who Are Starting Primary School. There Are Tons Of Clubs. There Are Good Activities In This School, My Favourite Activity Is PE.

Well it's kind of fun but there are some strict teachers and I don't like it when they click their fingers at us but I still like the school though. Also I was a very sensible person in class and I am in year 6 although the lunch was delicious plus my teacher keeps everything so organised

I am currently in Year 5 in this school and the entire thing's incredible! They have 2 places to be at, one is the main playground and another is the climbing frame, such grand meals for kings and queens all over the country, Ofsted really understands the meaning of outstanding VERY well, I would say I would want to live here since this is like 1/3 of my days...
I would recommend this school for the younger one that publicly see this

Brilliant school. Very impressed with the set up and staff. Pupils are all learning well and look happy. Took my son their for the play scheme and was impressed. Would recommend anyone living in the catchment area to send their little one to this school. No complaints. Ofsted rated this school very highly. So that alone speaks a thousand words. Plus they recently pedestrianized the roads around the school approach roads. So safer for the kids and families. In fact the area is having a make over and will help improve the look and feel and living conditions for all around.
