A private liberal arts university, we have 7 undergraduate faculties and junior college, 9 departments, 35 and courses and majors(10 departments, 38 courses and majors from April 2018), and a graduate school consisting of 7 departments and 10 majors. There are also 9 specialist research centers. The university now has approximately about 10,116 students vigorously pursuing their interests in studies, research, culture, arts, and sports.

University students should not be just spoon-fed. They must do research independently and think for themselves. Aichi University takes pride in its library with a collection of approximately 1,750,000 books, the scale of which far exceeds that of any other university throughout Japan. Besides, the latest IT environment of Aichi University provides a comfortable and substantial learning environment.

Aichi University’s 7 faculties and Junior College provide 9 departments with 35 courses and major programs to meet students’ appetites for specialized studies. Students can actively participate in seminar discussions, fieldwork and internship programs, and special lectures given by specialists, and brush up on their power of execution and ability to take action through their learning of experience type.

The employment rate of students who graduate from Aichi University is constantly as high as about 98.5%. It is remarkable that Aichi University students have been traditionally strong at difficult state examinations, such as government employee examinations, bar examinations, and certified public accountant examinations. Moreover, a powerful network of over 140,000 graduates, who work in all social fields including private enterprises, supports Aichi University students in finding jobs.

The university has an international outlook and strong links with the following 42 associated overseas universities. On our 3 campuses the university maintains offices to support international students studying here. The offices also provide resource rooms which include a range of foreign newspapers and magazines, counselling and support. Reflecting the history and heritage of Aichi University, we have particularly strong links with universities in China.

The university has excellent facilities. In addition to the study facilities, the university has spacious recreational areas at Toyohashi where you can relax between studies. The downtown campus at Nagoya and Kurumamichi is close to the busy commercial district of Sakae at Nagoya City.

The Centers for Information Media Studies were created to maintain Aichi University’s information learning environment and to encourage computerization in the University’s various fields of education and research. By taking advantage of the Centers, University students gain information literacy, becoming familiar with technologies that they can use in their learning environment and gaining knowledge about information technologies that they will be able to put to immediate use in today’s information-driven society.

Together, the three Centers—one at each campus—provide a total of approximately 1,200 computers for student use. All computers are connected to the University’s LAN as well as to the Internet. The Centers’ training labs and multimedia classrooms are used for a wide range of purposes, including classroom instruction such as information processing seminars; sending and receiving email; searching the Internet; writing reports and theses; holding courses conducted by the Centers on basic applications such as email, word processing, and spreadsheet software; and holding qualification examination preparation courses conducted by the Extension Center.

The library of Aichi University possesses more than 1,750,000 volumes. It has an abundant variety of books, both general and specialized. Books are acquired regularly, some chosen by library staff, others to meet requests or to take advantage of the specialties of the faculty.
