Mary's, a voluntary-aided school of 420 pupils, in Harborne, Birmingham. Our mission as a school is to offer equal opportunities and promote a love of learning in order to enable every child to fulfil their God-given gifts and achieve their very best. As a staff, we strongly believe that delivering a quality education enhances life chances and we provide a setting which is stimulating, and safe in order to achieve this.

Our St. Mary’s curriculum has Jesus at the centre and we have the Gospel values at the heart of everything that we do. We truly embrace the uniqueness of every child, created in the image and likeness of God. We aim to provide all our children with as many opportunities as possible to help them to continue to grow: providing a range of extra-curricular activities, opportunities to represent their peers and to develop their faith.

Our Governors, staff, parents, community and children all work well together to make St. Mary’s the fabulous school that it is. We offer many opportunities for parents to become involved in school life and this is communicated in our weekly newsletter, where we celebrate all the achievements of the children each week. We also have a very active twitter page which again shows the range of learning and experiences that a child of St. Mary’s encounters.

Forest School is an innovative educational approach that takes learning beyond the traditional classroom setting, immersing students in the natural world. We believe this experience offers a multitude of benefits that can significantly contribute to your child's personal and academic development.

At Saint Mary's we believe that children should experience some freedom in developing their sense of self and what is important to them. Our young learners have the opportunity to explore the outdoor environment, take risks, and initiate their own learning whilst developing their social and emotional needs with their friends. We hope to encourage our children to problem solve, take risks in a safe, supportive environment, and become more resilient and confident in their own abilities. It is a holistic approach to learning and the children (and grown-ups!) love spending time outside.
