King Edward VI Northfield School for Girls is a wonderful, small school that places the welfare of our pupils at the heart of what we do. We believe that children who are happy and feel safe are most able to excel academically.

We have recently joined the King Edward VI Academy trust, taking our place in an organisation which includes many of the best schools in Birmingham. Through becoming a King Edward VI school, our pupils have unparalleled opportunities to prepare themselves for joining King Edward VI Sixth Forms and going on to the very best universities. Additionally, our superb team of teachers will benefit from professional development and collaboration which will support our pupils to achieve the highest GCSE grades.

We have just moved into our brand-new building. Filled with state-of-the-art technology across subject specialisms and with a Sports Hall, Dance Studio and Performance Hall, we are able to develop each pupil’s enthusiasm and provide a broad and engaging curriculum for all.

In addition to a strong record of academic success, this school provides our pupils with a vast range of extra-curricular clubs, teams, and societies. These include football, netball, athletics and other sports clubs as well as choir, orchestra, rock band, dance and academic clubs such as Science and Programming. This enables pupils to develop friendships and social skills in addition to exploring new abilities and interests as well as giving parents the flexibility of knowing their daughters can remain safe and engaged in school until 5pm if they choose.

We believe our school is unique in our area; providing a small, safe and happy community for our pupils as well as securing the highest levels of academic success. As a single sex school we have created an environment where success is applauded and confidence built, Please contact me on 0121 464 8346 to visit our school or to discuss any aspect of our provision.

We are a school that believes in the potential of every one of our students; their potential to succeed academically, to engage with and make a difference to their community, to enjoy and achieve in sport and games, and to grow and develop as a well rounded and confident individual.

Our exam results mark us out as one of the most academically successful schools in our area and one of the most improved schools nationally; we continue to endeavour to further raise attainment through high quality teaching, resources and support.

We are also proud of our many achievements as a school community; raising money for charity, participating in community arts projects and supporting other local schools through primary reading and mentoring programmes.

You can read about our academic results, sporting successes and work in the community, as well as viewing our most recent Ofsted report.
