Volga Tech was established in 1932 to meet the need of a developing republic for specialists of Forestry Engineering and since than it has been growing and developing to train experts in a wide range of fields. Today Volga Tech is a modern university with over 9,000 students from Russia and abroad at 3 institutes (Institute of Forestry and Nature Management, Institute of Mechanics and Machine Building, Institution of Civil Engineering and Architecture) and five faculties: Faculty of Radio Engineering, Faculty of Information Technologies and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Social Studies, Faculty of Management and Law, and Faculty of Economics.

Upon receiving the original invitation, the applicant must apply for the entrance student visa through the Russian Embassy or Consulate in his or her country of residence. Russian consular authorities in some countries issue student visas only upon submission of the original invitation and contract for study with the host university. The Embassy/Consulate would also advise you of other documents necessary to obtain the visa and its processing times. Please obtain more precise and detailed information at the nearest Russian embassy or consulate in your country.Students from the European Union member states can enjoy a simplified invitation procedure (Letter of Invitation from the host university) but only for short-term (no more than 90 days) exchange programs.
