The GVCS Mungyeong Campus has currently approximately 500 students and 100 teachers who are all working together in pursuit of a valuable future. The 20 acres campus is equipped with various facilities and is growing into a campus suited for raising global leaders both in name and reality.

It is the goal of our education to raise talented individuals who can find their own way in the area of their choice, harmonize with others as they possess great team spirit, and change society in a positive way. We put our best effort into providing an education that will raise our students to become global leaders. We are raising leaders who share love and humanity by teaching Taekwondo, through which our students acquire a healthy spirit and national pride, and by emphasizing communal volunteer work, which cultivates a Christian mindset. Providing various reading activities, cultural experiences and sports, we educate our students with the main goal of fostering leadership. We will continue to do our best for our students to achieve valuable visions and goals and to become true leaders who fulfill the will of God.

The English Language Acquisition program is an intensive English program to enhance the students’ English abilities to a level so that they are able to follow classes instructed in English. ELA classes build strong English foundations and are comprised of English essentials, reading workshops / word study, writing workshops / grammar, and activities including English dramas, songs, listening, speaking, etc. In order to decrease the pressure on studying and increase learning effects, students are able to adjust the number of social studies and sciences classes individually through the Intensive Semester Credit Program. The curriculum follows the national common core standards for all subjects, ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) regulations, and the educational objectives of GVCS, with the goal of creating a curriculum that promotes a balance of required subjects, elective subjects, research, and liberal arts. The students’ individual capabilities are maximized through a variety of creative activities including volunteer work, club activities, and guidance counseling as to provide a holistic education. Students are able to develop their talents in liberal arts and sports by participating in various activities including classical musical instruments, band classes, sports clubs, and discipleship training.

Unlike in the past, athletes who only play sports cannot thrive in this world any more. Providing students with a unified sports and education program, GVCS has set its goal to training students with athletic talents while equipping them with international communication skills through the “Global Athletes Project.” The professional GVCS guidance counseling office suggests various career/school options both domestic and in the USA to which the athletes can advance after graduation. The students are offered an intensive and strategic education program to help them grow as leaders in their chosen fields as, for example, international referees, sports administrators, sports diplomats, and sports missionaries.

The main building of the Mungyeong Campus is named after the school founder’s, Jin-Seok Nam, pen name “Shin-Am.” As the majority of the classrooms, the library and the administration offices are located in this building, this is where students spend most of their time. The Yongsoon building, which is the former Youngsoon Middle School, houses the independently-operated ELA classes and an English cafe where students receive intensive English education. There are also multi-purpose classrooms including private music rooms and a Taekwondo studio in the building. Independence activist and missionary Homer Hulbert, who wanted to be buried in Korea instead of Westminster Abbey, was a passionate missionary who promoted the excellence of Korea to the world. Homer Hulbert spread the music sheet of the traditional Korean song “Mungyeongsaejae Arirang” that was published in the English magazine “Korea Repository” in 1896. This building was named after Homer Hulbert in hopes for great achievements of the Korean nation and to continue the world mission that Homer Hulbert had started. The Taekwondo studio, where students are taught the values of their own identity as well as of Korea, was named after Taekwondo Master Hong Byung-Jin. The Taekwondo Demonstration Team spreads the gospel and promotes Korea through local and overseas activities, transcending boundaries, languages, and cultures, making Taekwondo a tool for mission. The Global Vision Retreat Center, comprised of the dormitories (Lily Hall and White Tiger Hall) and Vision Hall, features accommodation for students, the cafeteria, a cafe and a fitness center. The Vision Cafe offers a full range of beverages and snacks, and is popular among students as a place to study in groups and to relax.

The international relations team of Global Vision Christian School aims to be a medium of helping to raise global leaders who will lead 10 billion people in the world. Therefore, we continuously advance to offer our students the best after-school and vacation programs that hone their talents and enable them not only to see the world but to gain international experience. Living in a ubiquitous era, it is of great significance to educate students to look outside the box, comprehend international relations and be able to adapt to the international world. The main part of our work lies in cooperating with schools around the world, sharing in the belief of providing the best education to all students.
