At Luther College we are proud to provide a secondary, coeducational environment where Christ is central, excellence is pursued and relationships are valued. We are committed to offering learning opportunities and experiences for our students to grow and prepare them for a meaningful and successful life.

Luther is also about learning and leading. We are passionate about learning in, and through a rich diversity of experiences. At Luther learning is prioritised and purposeful. It is relational, relevant, rigorous and reflective. We know that through education, and being focussed on preparing people for future opportunities, we are best prepared to lead tomorrow.

Connecting and collaborating are key priorities at Luther College. We invest in the formation of strong relationships, acknowledging that these are precursors for positive communities, safe learning and effective leading.

Luther College is one of 86 schools of the Lutheran Church of Australia, 15 of which are in Victoria. Luther College commenced in 1964 and in 2014 celebrated its 50th Anniversary.

As a Christian school Luther College values service, community, excellence and integrity. The College's extensive programs give students the opportunities and experiences to grow and prepare to successfully contribute to society with confidence and dignity.

The statement Greater care. Greater learning. encapsulates a central philosophy of a Luther College education. It is our belief that if the students of Luther College are nurtured in their adolescent years, encouraged in pursuing their dreams and challenged with an engaging curriculum, they will grow into responsible and motivated young adults.

The Luther College Strategic Design, entitled Greater Futures, was shaped by the College Council in collaboration with the College community. Importantly the Strategic Design was informed by the foundational mission and values of the College and focussed by a statement of purpose.

Luther College will continue to work with students and their parents to capitalise on the strong foundations of the College for the creation of greater futures for all.

Luther College values the opportunity to work with parents to support, guide and shape young people and provide learning experiences and opportunities to support, encourage, challenge and grow students from children to adults.

There is an expectation that all Luther College students will give of their best. We expect students to be focussed on, and committed to, purposefully planning to improve their learning, and to put in place positive practices that will help them to become contributors to our society. At Luther College we foster a culture of learning where excellence across the educational program is encouraged, supported and rewarded. Reassured by the emphasis on care, and with the existence of a supportive educational environment, the significant opportunities for learning can be a focus. Luther College is well known for the comprehensive educational offerings it provides with an extensive elective program for the younger students expanding into a large range of VCE subjects for senior students.
