‘The Aim Makes Great The Life‘ this has been the vision at Kuwait English School (KES) throughout 41 years of education with the mission to Inspire, Challenge and Encourage. KES has proudly received an outstanding rating from the British Schools Overseas Inspection.

KES welcomes students aged 3 – 19 years, offering them the finest in various areas of education including music, art, design, as well as in and after school activities like sports, drama and robotics.

The school is divided into four main areas, each one supervised, overseen and developed by four Head Teachers who, along with their staff teams, care deeply about education and the quality of life from which the pupils benefit both in and out of school.

  • Preparatory Department KG and Reception 3 to 5 years.
  • Infant Department Years 1 and 2 (5 – 7 years) .
  • Primary Department  Years 3 to 6.
  • Senior High School Department Years 7 to 13 (11 – 16 years).
  • Green Unit (Special Needs) 6 to 20 years.

KES was the first school in the Middle East to implement the use of Google Chrome in their classrooms. Head starts like this allow many of our graduates to continue their education in top universities worldwide. Kuwait English School facilities provided by the School ensure that a stimulating and safe learning environment is available and appropriate to the age and educational needs of each child.

The Preparatory Department, housed in its own building, was recently upgraded to ensure that each young child had access to diverse learning-through play experience – both indoor and outdoor. In the main school building, a separate area is reserved for the younger children (KS 1) where they can safely play outdoors and benefit from their classroom learning experiences.

Students from Year 3 upwards make use of specialist science labs, drama studios, newly revamped ICT suites, libraries, an indoor gym area and an indoor swimming pool.  Senior students taking  ‘A’ level courses (Years 12 and 13) have a dedicated Sixth Form Centre “The Millennium” and enjoy their own common room.

In addition to the facilities of the main school building, there is a specialist Music Centre and an excellent, well equipped Art & Design Technology Centre. The School also provides, in a separate building, a well resourced and stimulating learning centre for students with learning disabilities (The Green Unit).  A number of these students take some lessons in the main School building – interaction is much encouraged.
