The school was established in 2008 as an early years’ school (preK-3) with 164 students. In June 2012 the school was registered as a Cambridge Primary international School and a “Cambridge Assessment Center”.

The school serves five hundred learners (age 3-12) starting form Foundation 1 to year 6. We teach the national British curriculum at the Foundation stage and Cambridge curriculum standards at the Primary stage. Our Primary students take the Checkpoint exams at level 6, and the progressions tests at level 3 through 6.

Our learners and teachers belong to 23 different nationalities and are committed to sharing the same values and ethics. Students’ nationalities are American, Australian, British, Canadian, Egyptians, Jordanian, Kenyan, Indian, Indonesian, Lebanese, Malaysian, Mozambican, Nepali, Turkish, Tunisian, Pakistani, Persian, Filipinos, Sri Lankan, Sudanese, Syrians, Palestinian, and Yemenis.

The language of Instruction is English across all subjects except Qatar History and Islamic studies for Arab nationals. International students have access to a basic Arabic language program, whereas Arab students enjoy a rigorous Arabic curriculum which is addressed to first language speakers.

All students learn French as a foreign language, and information technology as well as physical education. We offer a behavior guidance and counseling program that is based on motivation and discipline principles. Through this program the students learn self-management, self-discipline techniques and self-directedness towards a growth mindset.

Our students enjoy a wealth of curricular and extra-curricular activities throughout the whole year in order to ensure that each learner is given different opportunities to develop emotional, social, physical, and cognitive aspects.

The school campus provides a lot of opportunities for play, fun activities, and focused learning with spacious classes, indoor and outdoor play areas, a highly equipped ICT lab, and interactive white boards in all classes.

At AMIS our Mission informs our actions and shapes our expectations. AMIS provides its students with a cooperative, caring environment enabling them to learn through a comprehensive and engaging curriculum. Our teaching and learning practice is rooted in Cambridge Checkpoint exams, helping students make connections across academic disciplines and challenging them to achieve their highest potential as individuals – and as caring, honorable, ethical, and adaptable global citizens. Our school inspires the students to become academically successful, creative, innovative thinkers and well-balanced individuals who will thrive to make a positive impact in the rapidly changing world.

At our foundation stage, the early education programme will make students feel like home in and outside a brand new purpose-built facility, designed especially for young children and their diverse learning needs, very spacious, natural and filled with light. We have created an environment for a child full of optimism, joy, playfulness and growth.

We are proud of our 12 years of success at cultivating academic achievements, physical and emotional well-being as well as social competencies necessary for students’ success and happiness in today’s world. The school now welcomes more than 550 students which makes it a learning community with strong local ties and attracting international families.

Our caring community and talented teachers, themselves internationally-minded and from diverse backgrounds, encourage and inspire students from foundation stage through to the Middle School applications. Our doors are open to you with the assurance we will be at your family’s side providing excellence in teaching and learning. Now we need you to join us to make this an even more remarkable place.
