We do this in an environment that values each child as an individual and espousing global citizenship and social awareness throughout the school community. Seri Mulia Sarjana International School endeavours to:
As an international school in a multicultural society, the school is committed to encouraging Excellence, instilling Global Citizenship, and promoting Social Awareness. Students learn in a supportive environment where excellence in all areas is encouraged and individual abilities recognised. We provide an academically rigorous programme to ensure students succeed in any setting life may take them. This is balanced with extra-curricular activities rich in arts and sciences giving every student the opportunity to excel in their own niche.
Global Citizenship is implemented through a whole school approach. Diversity is celebrated and appreciation of international culture is strongly encouraged. Our aim is to develop students who are responsible for their actions and its impact on the wider world around them. The school acknowledges the uniqueness of every child to develop their self-worth thus empowering every child to recognise that we live in a multicultural society where everyone is equal.
In an increasingly interconnected world, the school aims to develop social awareness among students to enable them to make socially responsible decisions. Our goal is to empower our students with the capacity to emphatize with others as well as the global society. This is hoped to develop their emotional intelligence, contributing to their development as whole persons.
Our school is founded on the principles of Academic Excellence, Global Citizenship, and Social Awareness. It began as a Special English Language class within the former PDS School (now Seri Mulia Sarjana School) established to cater to a growing number of expatriate families in Brunei.
In 1998, the school moved into a new campus separate from the mainstream Seri Mulia Sarjana School (then known as PDS School) and became known as PDS International School. Since then, the school has transformed into a truly multicultural community of learners with students from over 28 countries worldwide.
To reflect what the school stands for and reaffirm the school’s achievements a name change was effected in 2008. The then PDS International School is now known as Seri Mulia Sarjana International School. Seri Mulia loosely translates to “held in high esteem” and Sarjana means “graduate”. It is a name that truly reflects our tradition of excellence in education with our graduates moving on to succeed in higher education.
Today, the school attracts not only expatriate families but also caters to a considerable number of local students. It is a uniquely Asian international school in the rigour of its academic programme balanced by a global point of view; providing a learning experience relished by many and completes the experience that is uniquely Bruneian.
Our Early Years programme is designed as a gradual introduction to life-long learning and formal instruction. Children from ages 3 to 5 yrs are eligible for admission in our Early Years Programme.
Young children at the age of 3 undergo the magical years. This particular year, they begin their first steps in their learning and academic world. At this level, we introduce the skills our young children will need to be life-long learners. They are taught the real basic skills needed to learn in structured language, physical skills, social interaction skills, skills to cope and deal with emotions and skills that will assist them with higher cognitive learning.
At the age of 4 years old, young children have begun honing their sense of learning and relating themselves to a school environment. They begin to accept more structure in their daily learning and are more readily able to accept routines set in school and in class.
The Kindergarten 3 year is an exciting year of any preschooler. During this year, our little preschooler will graduate with independence and countless skills to aid them in their life long learning/education. They will become independent learners in life.
As this signifies the final year in their preschool education, our young children are gradually trained to adapt to a different set of skills altogether. By now, they would readily accept a certain level of structure in class lessons and activities. They come to a clearer understanding of what school is really about. They recognise that school is an environment where they will learn and grow mentally, physically and emotionally. Here they are more socially confident, have higher self-esteem and relate themselves better to others around them in their environment.
Our Primary Years programme is designed recognising the universal need for rigorous academic standards to create both academic and personal success. At the core of the curriculum is a solid foundation of traditional subjects such as mathematics, science, and language. The Primary Years programme provides intellectual stimulation in an atmosphere that encourages the desire to succeed.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
It is a useless school. Teachers waste a lot of times at school and give many homework when the exam is near. The time time they work hardest is during home based learning during covid pandemic. All teachers keep on posting lectures and guidelines a lot more than they could teach at school for the same period. And when the school resumes, all those lectures are never touched again. We are just paying for our child sending to their school. How can they expect a student can learn all from homework. Disgusting...
