Nhill Lutheran School

Nhill Lutheran School, a school providing a quality education in a caring Christian environment. Our motto of ‘Together We Grow’ encompasses our vision for students to grow academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. The motto also implies a healthy partnership between students, families, staff, parish and the community.

Nhill Lutheran School offers a rich learning journey for students from Foundation to Year 6. Our capable and qualified staff deliver learning opportunities for our students that grow their knowledge and understandings, and develop the essential skills needed for future success. As a school of the Lutheran Church, we strive to pastorally care for the wellbeing and development of all students, sharing God’s love with all.

Nhill Lutheran School is a well resourced school with plenty of space and great facilities. The grounds are spacious and allow for a variety of play and outdoor learning opportunities, whether that be nature play, building a cubby with branches, playing on the water feature, caring for animals in the mini-farm and more.

Nhill Lutheran School was established in 1977. On Wednesday 2nd February 1977, the school doors opened for the first time and it was blessed with an enrolment of 31 pupils: 10 boys and 21 girls. Later in the year two more pupils enrolled, making a total of 33 students in the first year. In 2020, we have an enrolment of 68 students.

Nhill Lutheran School provides a quality education in a caring Christian environment. The Victorian Registration Standards requires that all schools must have a clear statement of philosophy.

• We are committed to allowing each student to achieve in areas of their own interest. To do this, we accommodate each student’s interests, allowing them to balance curricular and extra curricular activities, and encourage them to pursue their interests.
• We are committed to fostering leadership in all of our students. To achieve this, we have programs and activities which encourage each student to lead among their peers.
• We are committed to allowing each student to live a healthy and active lifestyle. To do this, we provide education on a healthy lifestyle, and encourage sporting and other recreational activities.
