Southside Montessori is a non-denominational, co-educational school that is strongly grounded in the educational methods of Dr Maria Montessori. We implement the curriculum set by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), with whom the school is fully accredited and registered. Additionally, we are also a member of Montessori Australia.
Established over 40 years ago in 1979 by a committed group of parents each sharing a strong belief in offering their children more. Our aspiration and focus has always been to prepare our learners to be educated individuals, with a strong sense of life-long learning.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of our land and recognize that each learner’s journey contributes to our shared identity. We offer a fully integrated educational experience from preparatory to primary years, to accommodate learners between the ages of 4 to 12 years.
To educate individuals in the traditions of Montessori learning, igniting intellectual independence, with a commitment to the service of others, a strong moral compass and where curious wonder is nurtured in action.

In all Learning Environments we recognize that learning needs to ignite, be challenging and authentically informed to best prepare your child for a future focused world. Subjects taught are English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Human Society and its Environment, the Creative Arts, and Personal Development Health and Physical Education.
Clear and purposeful learning is intentionally sequenced into each child’s individual curriculum plan in Mathematics and Language. Diverse in content, these plans reflect the unique developmentally appropriate content for each learner regardless of their age. Each child is recognized as having unique educational needs and are catered for in order for their learning to be optimized.
