J’s International School proudly celebrated their 18th year in Moto-Azabu. J's was found by two mother’s who’s children attended Seisen and St. Mary’s. We are truly female-founded, female-led! The school is run by early childhood educators certified in Canada and US and mothers who have worked with children

We create an environment that stimulates children’s curiosity. Every child is unique and we want them to be able to express that. We want our children to explore new things everyday. It brings us joy to see the spark in our children’s eyes. It’s a true gift to be influential in their budding imagination and witness their passion for learning.

We welcome children from all cultures and pride ourselves on the dynamically diverse background of students and educators alike. We strive to nurture our children’s natural curiosity and encourage them to explore, play, mimic and learn. Also at J’s, we uplift the social and physical growth of the child which will aid in their overall independence for the future.

We hope to be part of your loving journey.

At J’s International School, our aim is to make a school that is fun in a very special way. We want it to feel as if it is a ‘home away from home’. Our teachers demonstrate this mindset and go the extra mile by helping the children based on their individual needs.

We follow the Reggio Emilia philosophy which is based upon the following set of principles:

  • Children must have some control over the direction of their learning
  • Children must be able to learn through experiences of touching, moving, listening, and observing;
  • Children have a relationship with other children and with material items in the world that they must be allowed to explore;
  • Children must have endless ways and opportunities to express themselves

The Reggio Emilia approach to teaching young children puts the natural development of children as well as the close relationships that they share with their environment at the center of its philosophy. The foundation of the Reggio Emilia approach lies in its unique view of the child: to foster education in the youngest learners to promote the best possible integration among children’s "100 languages”.

We believe in children to develop in these five areas: socio-emotional, cognitive, physical, creative and intellectual. They are all interrelated and are all equally important when it comes to child development. Our teacher-to-student ratio allow teachers to focus on the individual learning styles. The one-on-one support when learning a new language or transitioning to a new environment. We ensure each child is well supported in every way possible.

My daughter has been attending J's International School in Tokyo for the past year, and I couldn't be happier with her progress. The quality of education provided by the school is exceptional. The teachers are knowledgeable and skilled, and they create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment. The staff is always available to answer any questions or concerns, and they go above and beyond to ensure that each student receives the support they need. I have seen my daughter's confidence grow and her academic abilities flourish since she started at J's International School. Thank you for providing such a wonderful educational experience!
