A large part of what we do differently at The Lakes College is our approach to learning. We encourage a responsible attitude to work and instil values, standards and good discipline as the foundations for quality teaching and learning. We actually teach our students HOW to learn in a specialised subject, because we understand that in an ever changing world the ability to adapt and transform are vital skills.
We are also committed to promoting a culture of excellence by providing an educational setting of the highest standard. Our strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy and focus on foreign language, the arts and physical activity, allows students to explore and develop their interests and passions. Our dedicated staff support differentiation in the curriculum, tailoring each student’s schooling experience according to their aptitude, to ensure the best outcomes for the individual child.
The College’s state of the art facilities coupled with extensive pastoral care equips students for the technological, economic, social and personal impacts of the future. As our classrooms transform to meet the changing technological landscape, we remain at the frontier, ensuring our students emerge ready for whatever the coming decades may hold.
In the past two years we have expanded significantly with a new Secondary facility, a large, flexible, technology enabled learning space, new Cafe, Food Technology and Visual Arts Centre, a purpose designed Language Centre and a cutting edge Industrial Technology Centre. The Lakes College is continuing to grow and has big plans for the future.
