The American International School in Kuwait is governed by the Board of Owners, which oversees the school’s long term educational and financial health. The board works closely and in conjunction with the Superintendent whose responsible for the day to day administration, programming and policies. Their combined talents are focused to support the school’s mission and ensure the fiscal sustainability of AIS.
AIS celebrates our 31st year of providing a world-class education to the students of Kuwait and the international community. Holding true to our founding mission, AIS continues to accelerate academic achievement for students by offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, which is considered by the education community as the most academically and socially balanced curriculum in the world. This past spring, 94% of full Diploma Programme students completed the IB World Exams and received their IB Diploma. AIS is fortunate to be the only school in Kuwait authorized to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).
To further accentuate the outstanding academic program at AIS, the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) awarded AIS a full seven (7) year re-authorization. The IBO noted the exceptional achievement of students and the dedication of instructional and support staff.
This fall, AIS will complete the Middle States Association / Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA/CESS) accreditation. The MSA processes looks beyond standardized test scores and provide AIS with the opportunity to reflect on the overall education program to ensure that we are delivering on our promise of a world-class education across every program and classroom.

This is the best school in Kuwait. It follows the IB curriculum which is very demanding and motivating. The PYP prepares not just students as good academics but an all rounded person to carry on in this world, caring and compassionate. The MYP and DP are university preparatory stages of the school life. It teaches the students not just how to be good students but more importantly to be good human beings.
The IB and particularly AIS Kuwait is the best a parent can give their children.
