GSFC University is recognized under the Gujarat Private University (Second Amendment) Act, 2014 and is established by the GSFC Education Society - an initiative of Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd, six decades old industrial giant, to continue the tradition of serving the community in multiple ways. The vision behind establishing this distinct University is societal development through relevant and cutting edge knowledge in frontier areas of professional growth.

Our educational abode dwells on the philosophy of "Buddhi Gyanen Shudhayanti”. It means purification of mind and intellect through knowledge, which is vital to human life. It strengthens the path of success towards perfection. All the while being compassionate towards mankind and society at large. A huge banyan tree is a part of our logo. It symbolizes multiple roots of innovation that sprout towards sustainable growth. The rising Sun in the background of banyan tree in the logo, symbolizes plethora of opportunities for accomplishment in life.

• Develop a sustainable infrastructure of world-class standards to support the development of academic pursuits and fulfill industry requirements.

The university is housed in lush green GSFC campus, in a girl friendly environment. Our Girls Hostel is a State-of-the Art building with attached bathrooms. The campus has overall security umbrella of GSFC’s perimeter security surveillance. We in university are relooking at systems of imparting education and trying to bring in practices which are in vogue overseas, known as ‘Education 4.0’. In this learning which was primarily driven by hardware (paper books) to software (e-books) to everywhere (from cloud). This implies that education should not be a function of space nor time. We at our University are devising pedagogy to move from painful data dumping to quest for creativity, collaboration, developing problem solving ability, inculcation of higher order thinking leading to sheer joy of discovery. At our university we provide blended learning by using both technology and face-to-face time between student and teacher as dominant pedagogy.

Our University’s differentiation stems from it being close to GSFC’s 22 operating plants, which enables our students to visit them during regular teaching hours to understand ‘What & How’ of theory as applicable in work place. This is followed by 1 month of internship after every semester, when students imbibe in-depth knowledge. We are introducing Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), which addresses current industry requirements, enabling students to be useful according to industry’s current demand. We strongly believe in Participative Management culture for and encourage Student’s Participation in Joint Management Teams (JMTs), like - Hostel Management Team, Facility Management Team, Library Management Team, Event Management Team, Sports & Cultural Activities Management Team, Placement Management Team to accomplish twin objectives of fairness and transparency. University also encourages students to start a club of their choice, to provide them a window for taking up their passion and excelling at it.
