Job Summary
The role holder is responsible for managing financial control operations of the Consumer Sector to drive strategic decisions by providing management with information on the financial status and outlook of the Sector. The role holder is also responsible for verifying and approving Consumer Sector’s financial transactions. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Managerial Responsibilities
- Participates in the development and implementation of the Financial Control & Operations plans, in line with the corporate objectives.
- Directs and manages the Financial Control Section mandates, providing leadership and facilitating work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
- Interprets and implements change in the Financial Control Section providing guidance and support, necessary for continuous improvement.
- Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures and quality standards in Financial Control Section.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Control
- Defines and implements various financial controls and systems to safeguard STC’s assets and ensure effective financial management of the organization.
- Verifies and approves payment requests to suppliers, partners and Integral and regularly follows up on payment close out with the Finance Sector in order to ensure effective stakeholder satisfaction.
- Ensures that all payments made are compliant with statutory requirements of tax authorities, regulatory authorities and other delegated authorities.
- Coordinates with the Finance Sector on all matters related to financial control including new payment channels, profitability analysis support, pricing development, etc.
- Coordinates with the Manager – Revenue Assurance and monitors and tracks all fraud instances (both internal and external) such as misuse of systems, fraud at points-of-sale, fraud at sales channels, etc. and recommend appropriate actions in order to ensure financial stability for STC.
- Ensures effective optimization of STC’s cash and credit payments and regularly monitors and approves all transactions related to commissions, partner payments, petty cash, wholesale settlements (inter-Sector transactions), etc. in compliance with established standards and best practices.
- Archives and ensures validity of banking guarantee letters related to STC cabins.
- Contacts related banks to renew banking guarantee letters and ensure revenue generated from STC cabins.
- Analyse CBU revenue on weekly, monthly and annual basis, and highlight main changes.
- Maintain the integration between CBU sub ledgers with GL and ensure proper mapping.
- Play a SPOC role with internal and external auditors for CBU related matters.
Education level/Major
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferably), Business administration, marketing, MIS or relevant field.
Years of Experience
A minimum of 6 years of experience in managing financial control systems, processes, verifying and approving financial transactions in a large organisation.
Desired Skills & Knowledge
- Strong financial planning and analytical skills.
- In-depth understanding of revenue, capital budgeting and control.
- Ability to detect fraud.
- Ability to analyse the trends in telecommunications industry with special emphasis on financial control domain.
Certification Required
Professional certifications like Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/(SOCPA).
