Sant Baba Bhag Singh University

Dream Project of the revered saints of Dera Santpura Jabbar, Sant Baba Bhag Singh Ji, Sant Baba Hardyal Singh Mussarfir Ji and Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji was realised by establishment of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University vide Punjab Government Act 6, 2015.The journey started with primary education then moved ahead to secondary education followed by higher education in form of Colleges, Institutes and finally the University. The Founder Chancellor of the University, Sant Baba Malkit Singh Ji had noble and great vision of providing higher education to the poor rural students of the area who could not afford to go to distant places for higher education in different programmes and worked for establishment of the University.

The University offers wide range of programmes of studies with diversified options for professional programmes and growth in the field of Engineering, Management, Sciences, Humanities, Commerce, Education, Sports, Rural Development and Agriculture. The programmes vary from Short Term Courses to Doctorate Level Courses. The University endeavours to attract students by providing liberal fee concession, calm and pollution free environment and maintenance of proper discipline.

Objectives of SBBS University:

• To address the educational needs of the society through participatory mechanisms.
• To develop curriculum addressing challenges of the stakeholders for finding appropriate technology options to promote a just and equitable economic and social development.
• To develop a pool of researchers and academicians across the disciplines interested in and working for rural communities leveraging academic inputs for higher education.
• To make provision for integrated courses in humanities, natural and physical sciences, social sciences, agricultural science, engineering and other disciplines in the educational programmes of the University.
• To train manpower to meet with the scientific and industrial needs- locally and globally.
• To pay special attention to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people of the region.
• To inculcate entrepreneurial spirit among the girls belonging to rural areas.
