JS University, Shikohabad is the 'dream come true' of Shri Jagdish Singh Ji, through Sri Jagdish Jan Kalyan Educational Trust which is working seriously in the field of quality education for rural area students since long back. Dynamic educationist Dr. Sukesh Kumar working vigorously in expanding the Colleges of this Trust in terms of a well planned University. The State Government under the leadership of Shri Akhilesh Yadav, the Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh took cognizance and introduced a Bill to the status of a University in March 2015 and christened it as J.S. University, Shikohabad, Firozabad. Hon'ble Chief Minister proposed, “With a view to encourage infusion of philanthropic capital in private sector to participate in the field of higher education and encourage competition to attract high quality faculty and students and continuously enhance quality it has been decided to establish and incorporate a teaching University by the name of J.S. University, Shikohabad, Firozabad by Shri Jagdish Jan Kalyan Educational Trust, Shikohabad, Firozabad..” We are working hard for this noble purpose.

JSU has pioneered many innovative teaching and evaluative practices long before they have introduced in institutions of higher education in India. It has provided full autonomy to the tutor to design the syllabus and evaluate students in the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) mode through tests, presentations, term papers and projects, long before CCE became standard practice. We are on the way to adopt Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) suggested by UGC.

The J.S. University has more internationally and nationally esteemed researchers than other newly established private universities in India. We have a good number of undergoing research degree. The University has been following a system of student feedback, which is done manually. Students fill in a feedback form, where they assess the teachers in the following criteria – -Quality of content of lecture – Quality of delivery – Degree of updating of contents – Promptness in evaluation and feedback – Regularity and punctuality in meeting the class – Empathy for the problems faced by the students. – Quality of research guidance.

Libraries and Learning services provide resources; workshops and advice to help your successfully complete your study. Within the libraries you can access large collections of print, multimedia and micro text materials. From the Libraries and Learning services website you can access diverse collections of electronic resources, including database, e-journals and e-books.

As part the University's commitment to students with disabilities, the DSW office provides support to students with a range of impairments so they can succeed and excel within the University. Support can be tailored to your needs to help make studying at the JS University an accessible and positive experience for you.

University hostels and the office of Dean Students welfare provide a home away home for students on campus and are used for teaching, learning and other student activities. The office of DSW provides environment for studies and a space for discussion and support. University staff assists students with their studies through workshops, study groups, individual and consultations. Additionally, students can seek advice and support from DSW office at any time.
