Adamas University

Adamas University, with a sprawling green campus extending over 100 acres, nestled in Barasat (13 kms away from the Subash Chandra Bose International Airport Kolkata), and in its 3rd year of operation, aspires to impart finest quality education to the young minds of West Bengal, with an already established high quality research facility and a powerful team of teachers. The University has many international initiatives collaborating with the industries and educational institutes to facilitate projects, research and student exchange programs. Currently, in its 4th year, the campus has 2500+ current students and more than 1000 resident students & faculties.

While the system of imparting the education will be flexible and multidisciplinary, with state-of the-art and interactive pedagogy, the University is expected to gradually grow to accommodate other areas of study, such as Biological Sciences, Earth Sciences, Fine & Visual Arts and different branches of Medical Sciences.

The Adamas University has been established by Sachis Kiran Roy Memorial Trust (SKRMT) (under the West Bengal Act IV of 2014) passed by The West Bengal Legislature and approved by The Governor. The provisions of The Adamas University Act, 2014, have come into effect on 11th April 2014, through a notification issued by The Govt. of West Bengal on the same day.

As the parent organization, the RICE Group will also contribute to shaping the destiny of the youth of West Bengal pursuing their studies in the Adamas University.

We are planning to make it a vibrant campus with international collaborations right from its inception, with mentoring from national and international experts. It is our firm belief that this University will be one of the leading universities in the eastern part of the country in days to come. We need strong tie-ups with industry and knowledge-sharing between industry and academia for preparing our students as industry-ready.

In a short span of the past two years the Adamas University has created an impressive infrastructure and an academic environment conductive not only for imparting higher education in various disciplines of science, engineering, mass communication, liberal arts, law and management but also for creating new knowledge through research and innovation. The University is led by a group of academicians of international repute.

The scope and depth of academic prospects under the guidance of the staff and the managing committee at Adamas University is numerous. It is a result of collective brainstorming, but also the amalgamation of unique contributions proposed by every individual. It is my firm belief that it is only through the experience of those at the helm will encourage the students to excel, and make optimum utilisation of all that is at their disposal. I wish the students all the luck in their endeavours to tread our orbit of excellence.

It is a great honour to be able to contribute to such a young institution as Adamas University. That it has been the powerhouse of resources to all if its present and past students, is a testament to the whole management. In every discipline, a considerable amount of thought has gone in to make it as wholesome and rewarding as possible for each student enrolled. For the basis of excellence lies not only in the process of skillful internalisation and application, but also in the prolonged optimisation of these disciplines.
