Aryabhatta Institute of Engineering and Management was established in 2003 with the objective of creating highly trained professional manpower in various disciplines of Engineering keeping in mind the rapid industrial growth in West Bengal as well as different parts of India in the context of globalization and competition . The Institute is governed by a Board of Governors consisting of eminent personalities and Educationists. The Institute is approved by AICTE and courses are affiliated to WBUT.

Doing right things and doing things right is a balancing act, and requires the development of good strategies and efficient operation to deliver the Products and Services required. As a matter of fact, technical education development has to be integrated with concrete foundation of efficient operations. AIEMD has taken a big leap forward to provide for the growing Technical HR needs. At AIEMD, we are making consistent efforts in synthesizing insights from different mind sets. Education, Discipline, Dedication and Determination are key words for success in any arena.

Besides providing the students with state-of-the-art facilities it has been our continuous effort to expose them to the realities of corporate world. We have successfully managed this with some of the most respected minds from the industry, who frequently visit the campus and share their experiences with the students. There has also been a conscious effort to introduce novel methods of learning and in that direction, we have conducted various Management and soft skill development programmes and taken initiatives like Industry mentorship programmes. AIEMD a pioneering technical institution gave much needed impetus to the development of technology and science in socio economically backward areas of the country. Since its inception the institute has facilitated significant development through R & D and creation of infrastructure facilities for the implementation of “LAB TO LAND” programme.

During the past four years, Aryabhatta Institute of Engineering and Management Durgapur has continuously responded to the changes in professional education and needs of the industry and reinvented itself, to become an Institute that is truly world class. Today, AIEMD campus has a huge team of highly qualified and experienced faculty who have shown commitment to the vision of the Institution. This has been supported by the extensive renovation and expansion of the infrastructure.

The laboratories and the class-room facilities are fully equipped to train budding engineers. We have realised that, to be truly successful, students need skills and exposure that are additional to the normal curriculum. We have introduced extra coaching to prepare for GRE, TOEFEL etc. That helps the students to grow their lateral talents. The “Value Added Curriculum” is also being introduced so that the students can develop a niche in the area of their Core competence and become more employable. All these endeavours have translated into best of placement records. A I E M D campus today, has become the most preferred destination of recruiters both national and international level.
