Our spirituality is a basic Gospel call to love of God and neighbor. It is characterized by a deep relationship with the persons of the Blessed Trinity and with Jesus, Mary and Joseph as a human community of love. The distinguishing mark of our Congregation is simplicity, and we try to accept God’s invitation to grow both individually and together in humility and charity.
The spirit of the Congregation urges us to resist complacency, to nourish mutual healing and to foster reconciliation. It animates us to move always toward closer union with God and neighbor. We share a rich spiritual heritage with other Sisters of Saint Joseph throughout the world, and work together to find inspiration for our 21st Century lives in the writings that are part of our heritage. We ponder the words of our early documents, hoping to become by God’s grace the Congregation of the great love of God.
Academic excellence is fostered at the Mount through the fusion of a challenging and supportive academic program and an extensive extracurricular program which extends beyond the parameters of school life. As a college preparatory school, the Mount prepares young women to realize their fullest potential spiritually, academically and socially.
Outside of class, our students take part in a wide assortment of school-sponsored activities. Such involvement helps each student round out her education by developing leadership skills and exercising her personal talents.
Clubs and organizations at Mount Saint Joseph Academy span the full range of student interests: service organizations, performing groups, academic interest clubs, honor societies, and more. New groups form easily whenever students take initiative in a new area; thus, our list of activities will normally reflect their current interests.
Highlights of the school year at Mount Saint Joseph Academy include concerts put on by our various music groups - Instrumental Ensemble, Glee Club, and Hand-bell Choir - as well as theatrical productions and exhibits of student art work. Our student newspaper, yearbook ,and literary magazine provide award-winning outlets for students to express themselves in writing or graphic arts.
Attending a day school for girls puts no crimp on our students' social lives! Even though they live in widely scattered areas, many students come back to campus for weekend activities, including dances and mixers with male students from nearby academies and schools.

Mount St. Joseph Academy in Philadelphia has been an incredible educational institution for my child. The American curriculum provided has been top-notch, ensuring a well-rounded education.
