At Our Children’s House, every child counts. We see each child as a unique individual, with different talents and abilities, with the potential to develop to the fullest, given the right opportunities.

We believe in positively reinforcing the children, to build their self-esteem and to do their best, whether in academics or behaviour wise.

With a clean and safe environment, caring, experienced teachers and Montessori directresses, our children can grow up to be confident, critical thinkers, caring for the environment and the people around them. At our Children’s House, we take a multi-modal approach, framed primarily within the IPC (thematic, play and inquiry based) curriculum, and augmented by Montessori (individualised and differentiated) activities.

In particular, we have a strong Language and Literacy programme, as well as for Mathematics, using Montessori materials, to ensure that our children have a good foundation and preparation for primary school. As children have different learning styles, abilities, and multi-intelligences (Gardner, 1983), it is our approach to help our children learn and develop according to their abilities and needs.

At Our Children’s House, we believe that children are individuals with innate abilities and learning styles. We also believe that we should cater their learning in accordance with their individual needs, as well as optimise their learning through the environment and strategies that we employ. Hence, we promote both an individualised Montessori programme as well as one that promotes group discussions and interaction. Scientific research shows that children learn better and have improved working memory through:

  • Meaningful Learning; building on what they already know;
  • Associations (pattern recognition and correlation) and Adaptability
  • Compatibility (consistency and matching)
  • Construal Level Spectrum (the abstract and concrete) for effective learning
  • Variance and Feedback (extensions and learning from trial and error)
  • Sensory Integration (Paivio’s dual-coding theory, multiple sensory integration)
  • Transfer Effect (transfer of learning to another area of learning)
  • Priming and Repetition
  • Focused Attention and Physical Engagement (building concentration)
  • Constructive Collaborative Learning (meaningful group activities and discussions)
  • Fun and Engaging Environment (variety of stimuli and strategies and positive reinforcements and emotional well-being)

My daughter goes off school with a big smile every time when I pick her up. She loves to go to school and this is fundamentally important. The team of dedicated professional teachers have provided a happy learning experience for the kids, with a series of well established solid learning programmes tailored to develop kids' talents. It is certainly a great joy for myself to witness how my daughter grow and learn everyday as she picks up and brings home with her new skills and knowledge. Thank you to Our Children's House for all the great work.

My 3&6 year old joined OCH since 3rd qtr 2019. Though is a short 6 mths for my elder boy, I can see big change in him after joining OCH! My small wows us everyday with the academic and life skills he picks up in school, all thanks to the dedicated team of educators in OCH. While we are grateful for the things my 2 boys learnt, we are also happy to know the teachers and staffs are working in a conducive environment and under the care of a dedicated and understanding leader. To us this is the core of a strong team which in turn determine the quality of education our children receive. Would strongly recommend this school to any parents out there!

My son went to this school for 3 years. At the beginning, he couldn't speak in Eeglish at all and was really picky about the food. But the teachers taught him so patiently and watched warmly. I think the small ratio also helped, after that, he became to talk with teachers and friend in English well and enjoy the school healthy meal! He made lots of progress in such as Chinese, Math, and Art&Craft as well. The last few months, my daughter joined the school. They has a part time cource(can choose from twice a week, half or full day). She also enjoyed very much. We are deeply grateful for your kindness!! Thank you!

Hi, I am thankful and grateful for this school. Firstly, it was walking distance to my house and the teachers have been utmost friendly and also very detailed in my child progress. Detailed observations are written in their communication book so parents will not need to worry. I know that if I had a concern, the teachers would take note of it and would genuinely wants to work with me. The school do offer extra curriculum activities such as Soccer, art etc. which allows my child to be expose. The school offers events which encourages parents child involvement which I am thankful for. My girl has developed so much through her time in our children house. I can’t wait to see her bloosom further

My 2 girls absolutely love going to Our Children's House every morning. The teachers are very professional and cheerful. My older daughter loves the outdoor space and enjoys watering the plants with her teacher. We feel very lucky to have such a lovely kindergarten near our new home.
