Barara Nursery was established in 2013 to provide families with the option of having a bilingual program for their children. We have very quickly gained a solid reputation as a leading early childhood education centre because of this option.

Barara Nursery offers a dynamic, fun and flexible curriculum following the Early Years Foundation Stage. This enables children to learn French, Islamic Studies, Arabic Language or English Language programs as an option. Every child in our care will be encouraged to become competent learners and confident individuals. Because of that, we created a safe environment that is bursting with love and care that can support their love to learn.

At Barara, we aim to work as a dedicated team with parents implementing the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) parallel with an Arabic Curriculum. Our unique Islamic Program is based on our morals and values designed especially for children of this age group.

We have created a rich learning environment where every child is ‎encouraged to achieve their full potential, and challenged and supported as needed, to enable them ‎to become competent learners and confident individuals.‎ Many of the families in Barara are coming from multicultural backgrounds where additional language or learning support is needed.

Our unique curriculum makes it possible for children to take French, Islamic Studies, Arabic Language or English Language programs as an option. Children will have the added benefit of experiencing each stage of development in the early EYFS by participating in activities provided by our Arabic Teaching Team. Special emphasis is placed in helping children learn letter recognition, phonics, numbers, colours, and shapes in preparation for “BIG” school readiness.

At Barara, Quran lessons are optional for children. This program is open to all parents who want their children to learn the Quran ‎in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Also at Barara, classical Arabic is spoken, and children learn phonics, words, phrases, songs and prayers throughout the day with an emphasis on correct pronunciation. ‎Teachers engage the children in oral fun-focused activities and provide an encouraging ‎environment for all levels. These lessons initially focus on building vocabulary and the introduction of ‎dua’s and Arabic conversation using the EYFS approach.

At Barara we believe safety comes first, for that reason we have a very high safety policy to ensure your child is in a safe environment while enjoying our daily program and activities.We pay very close attention to hygiene. We have developed a hygiene policy to ensure the nursery is always clean and steps are taken to avoid the spread of disease between children.

Our daily activities are based on the standards of the Early Years Foundation Stage. We are the first nursery in Qatar that implements this program in both English and Arabic equally to promote the Arabic language in the early years setting.

We are very careful in selecting our team. All our Barara nursery teachers and teacher assistants hold a bachelor’s degree in education, specialising in early childhood education, English literature, Arabic or psychology. Our staff is required to have two years previous experience working in a nursery or school setting.
