Our Nursery children currently have priority to the waiting pool at Park House English School and the school has agreed to assess all of our children. These relationships do not guarantee a place but significantly helps with the application process. Our values are kindness, respect, love, fun and independence.

Our Aims:

  • Are to provide the safety and security of each child.
  • A high quality UK curriculum.
  • A learning environment in which each child is treated as an individual with dignity and respect.
  • High levels of care for each child.
  • A healthy eating expectation.
  • Daily physical activity.
  • Positive behaviour management.
  • Strong parental communication and support.

Staffing levels at Little Lions Nursery exceed both those laid down by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and British regulations. We seek individuals to join our team who have a compassionate approach and understand the importance of following each child’s needs. We strive to provide continual support and training to our staff through Inset Days, individual training and termly appraisals. Each child is assigned a Key Person who enables a special relationship to be established with your child. There is a developmental record kept by the Key Person to which you will have access to at all times. We maintain an open door policy as we believe open communication and sharing is key to successful parent/teacher relationships.

As a Nursery, we will work with the parents to assist them with the assessment procedure for accessing their preferred school. The Nursery Manager will host meetings with parents to discuss this process. We have developed strong relationships with a number of international schools and expect that some assessments will take place in our own nursery environment.

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfil their potential. A child's experience in the early years has a major impact on their life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right, and it provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up. When parents choose to use early years services they want to know that provision will keep their children safe and help them to thrive.

The overarching aim of the EYFS is to help young children achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, and achieving economic well-being by:

  • Setting the standards for the learning, development and care young children should experience when they are attending a setting outside their family home, ensuring that every child makes progress and that no child gets left behind.
  • Providing for equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice and ensuring that every child is included and not disadvantaged because of ethnicity, culture or religion, home language, family background, learning difficulties or disabilities, gender or ability.
  • Creating the framework for partnership working between parents and professionals, and between all the settings that the child attends.
  • Improving the quality and consistency in the early years sector through a universal set of standards which apply to all settings, ending the distinction between care and learning in the existing frameworks, and providing the basis for the inspection and regulation regime.
  • Laying a secure foundation for future learning through learning and development that is planned around the individual needs and interests of the child, and informed by the use of ongoing observational assessment.
