Established in September 1982, our school is one of twelve child care centres run by Yan Chai Hospital. Serving working parents and needy families in Tuen Mun. In addition to providing whole-day pre-primary education and day-care service, we also provide integrated and extended hours services for children aged 2 to 6. Learning in a healthy and joyful environment, children will be cared for and nurtured, enabling them to grow up in a happy way.
Yan Chai Hospital (YCH) has been serving Hong Kong citizens for more than forty years. Thanks to its former directors’ efforts in construction, development and expansion of services, YCH has evolved from a hospital that solely offered medical service into a well-established and diversified non-profit organization, with its services reaching all over Hong Kong and covering medical, educational and social service fields.

All our Teachers are professionally trained in early childhood education. Some are double degree-holders in Early Childhood Education and Master of Education (MEd). Our teachers have an average of more than ten years teaching experience.
To enhance the children’s language capabilities we have also hired native Putonghua and English teachers.As the school curriculum develops, we arrange for our teaching staff various kinds of training activities every year, so as to enhance their abilities to apply theories and knowledge and to practice teaching.
Modelled on the ‘Guide to the Pre-primary Curriculum’ published by the Curriculum Development Council, our curriculum teaches morality with games. In addition to educating children with cognition and skill development, we focus on nurturing them with the proper values. We also employed professional Putunghua teachers so that students can learn Putunghua in daily lives and develop keen interest in learning a second language.
Our school places great emphasis on our school-based curriculum development. We strive to carry out student-centered exploratory activities from which children-centered learning activities are derived. They provide children with opportunities to think, try and have discussions among their peers, so that they will learn in a joyful and effective way. In line with the curriculum, students from each form will have the chance to visit different places and take part in external activities each year. In order to arouse their interest in written Chinese and English, and spoken Cantonese, Putonghua and English, we have also hired English and Putonghua teachers who carry out language games and activities.
Our school strives to offer students balanced learning opportunities in the five aspects of development, namely moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic, among which moral education is deemed to be our core program. Our school has an annual moral theme which covers our year-round programs with an aim to reinforcing character building of our students, enhancing their sense of civic responsibility and developing their moral sense and civic awareness. We hope that students will be able to build positive characters in their daily lives. The contents of our moral education include the advocacy and promotion of filial piety, courtesy, environmental protection, gratitude, etc. We hope that students, in addition to being academically well-qualified, will be given an opportunity to learn the traditional Chinese values, so that they can build up a positive value system and way of thinking in their early childhood. It is also hoped that they will have a caring heart and their sense of civic responsibility and contribution can be cultivated.
