HND top-up Civil Engineering and the Built Environment

The HND programme will provide you with a more advanced understanding of civil engineering. You will study key areas, such as contract procedures, project management and project research. It is designed as a top-up from HNC Civil Engineering and enables you to study on a day-release. The programme aims to provide you with a more advanced understanding of civil engineering. This programme is affiliated with the Institution for Civil Engineers (ICE) and is an internationally recognised qualification, by most employers, for people working towards Incorporated Engineer status.

Teaching & assessment

Each individual unit will use different teaching and learning strategies, depending upon the nature of the subject. The teaching and learning strategies will include a combination of different approaches, including Lectures, Workshops, Seminars, Academic Tutorials and Site visits.

Interview Instructions

You will be invited to attend an interview at the College where your suitability to the course will be assessed.

• You will hold a Higher National Certificate in Civil Engineering.
