HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering
This programme will equip you with the knowledge and skills for a range of technical and management careers in the electrical/electronic engineering industry, working for manufacturing, design, pharmaceutical, service industries or off-shore oil and gas companies. You will study modules that focus on areas such as analytical methods for engineers, project design, electrical and electronic principles, engineering science, plus other specialist topics that meet the demands of local industry.
You must gain a total of 120 credits by undertaking multiple units from the Analytical Methods for Engineers, Engineering Science, Engineering Project, Electrical Power, Programmable Logic Controllers, Digital and Analogue Devices and Circuits, Electrical and Electronic Principals and Utilisation of Electrical Energy.
Learners must achieve a minimum of 120 credits (of which at least 65 must be at Level 4) to be awarded an Edexcel BTEC Level 4 HNC. Assessments will involve providing evidence against published learning outcomes and assessment criteria. You will receive an individual grade for each unit as ‘pass’, ‘merit’ or ‘distinction’. You must meet the assessment criteria set out in the specifications to achieve a pass grade – this gives transparency to the assessment process and establishes a national standard for each qualification.
You will be invited into college to attend an informal interview where your suitability to the course will be assessed.
