Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship Construction Management
This apprenticeship programme will provide you with a hands-on and more advanced understanding of Construction and Civil Engineering. You will study key areas, such as contract laws, project management and project research. This hands-on apprenticeship programme will provide you with a more advanced understanding of Construction and Civil Engineering. You will study key areas, such as contract laws, project management and project research. It is designed as a top-up from the Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Construction Management or the HNC in Construction or Civil Engineering.
This course combines study with practical learning on-the-job. You will attend college on a day-release basis while employed and working as an apprentice in the Construction or Civil Engineering industry. This apprenticeship is perfect if you would like to work in a management role in the industry. It covers topics such as health and safety, managing the environmental impact of work activities and developing working relationships. It can be completed in either an office or site based setting.
The Level 5 NVQ in Construction Management has several pathway options available. Here at New College Durham we offer Pathway 1 (Construction and the Built Environment) and Pathway 2 (Civil Engineering). Construction and the Built Environment , National Vocational Qualification (NVQ): Diploma in Construction Management Level 5 (7+ Units). Technical Certificate: BTEC Higher National Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment Level 5 (7 Units).
Construction and the Built Environment – Civil Engineering Pathway, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ): Diploma in Construction Management Level 5 (7+ Units). Technical Certificate: BTEC Higher National Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment (Civil Engineering) Level 5 (7 Units). You will work for a minimum of 30 hours per week, plus take part in training for approximately 1 day. The exact working and training hours will be dependent upon the needs of the employer.
You will engage in classroom teaching and learning, site visits, group work, and independent study.
You will be invited to attend an interview where your suitability to the course will be assessed.
UCAS tariff points: 120 and you will hold a Higher National Certificate in Construction or Civil Engineering.
