The Graduate Certificate of TESOL is a course designed for prospective teachers wishing to teach English to speakers of other languages. The course prepares students for a variety of language teaching contexts in Australia and overseas. It integrates current theory and practice of TESOL, including teaching methodologies, programming and planning, and linguistics for language teaching. A range of language learners is considered, varying by age, social and cultural backgrounds.
Suitable for experienced teachers wanting a recognised ESL qualification and new teachers wishing to enter the field of English Language Teaching. Applications are open to anyone with a completed Bachelor degree and an interest in English language teaching for children or adults.
Part of what makes Macquarie future focused is that we allow you the freedom to explore your interests across a range of areas, rather than lock you in to a single, narrow field. So follow your passions and tailor your course to your needs and interests.
Units are what we call subjects. Most full-time students take four units – each worth a fixed number of credit points – per session.
Most postgraduate courses require a successfully completed Australian bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised institution and may also require a specific grade point average (GPA). Our admissions team will determine whether your qualification meets the requirements.
