Welcome to The Art Institute of Houston! Our faculty, staff, and students all share a common bond: creativity, dedication, and a commitment to excellence in their endeavors. We all take great pride in the fact that our Art Institutes school is a wonderful place to teach, work, and learn.
Our faculty—including working professionals and seasoned educators—share their depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in order to prepare you for the rigors of the workplace. We work to foster a collaborative environment that promotes artistic freedom and challenges each of us to continue to grow personally and professionally.
Our general education offerings have been carefully chosen to complement the core curriculum. General education courses develop communication skills, stimulate creativity and originality, and help you embrace global perspectives and cultural diversity. These courses can enhance your work in your program of study, and most importantly, can cultivate the intellectual curiosity required to be an active lifelong learner.
Our commitment to our students extends beyond graduation. As a member of The Art Institutes system of schools, graduates continue to connect to The Art Institute of Houston socially and professionally throughout their lives as they join more than 175,000 alumni from more than 50 schools.
Our success as a school is measured by your success. You can ensure your success by taking an active, responsible role in your education. We’re glad that you’ve chosen us as your partner as you continue your educational journey.
You’re about to start a journey from creative thinker to creative professional. At every step of the way, you’ll be challenged and supported, pushed and inspired, and surrounded by others who share your passion, your spirit, and your goals.
If you’re ready to go even further, do even more, and work even harder than you ever have before, you’ve come to the right place. There’s nothing easy about a creative education at The Art Institutes system of schools. But we'll do everything we can to help you bring out your best and help you develop the skills to turn your passion into your career. With your creativity and our mentoring and support, the future is yours. First things first.
At The Art Institutes system of schools, we share your passion for creativity—and your concerns about how to afford the cost of a creative education. And we’re committed to doing everything we can to ease those concerns so you can focus on pursuing your calling. Through a range of competitions and other opportunities, The Art Institutes system of schools is offering full and partial scholarships to new and current students during the upcoming school year. We also offer a variety of financial resources to help qualified students manage their school expenses. Our dedicated Student Financial Aid officers will help you explore all your options—including grants, loans, and scholarships—as you prepare to launch a creative career where you do what you love.
No two students come at the same creative challenge the same way. Nor do they come to The Art Institutes with the same career goals and lifestyles. Whether you’re going straight from high school and planning to study full-time, or looking to change careers or grow in the one you have, you want a degree option that works for you. So we have a range of degree and non-degree programs designed to help you do anything from becoming more proficient in your job to taking your professional skills to a higher level.
Some students transfer to The Art Institute of Houston because of our convenient class schedules that include an online option, or our scholarship and grant opportunities. But many are looking for something else—a more creative, hands-on, and collaborative experience. Whatever your reason, if you’re a high school graduate or you’ve earned your high school equivalency certification (such as the GED®), and you’ve completed at least one semester at an institution of higher learning like ITT Tech, you may be eligible.
We’re all about helping connect you to a creative career where you do what you love. And a big part of that is connecting you with new people and places, and gathering new experiences outside the classroom. We’re here to help you explore the campus and the city, and get involved in organizations, clubs and activities, on and off campus. Because all those experiences enrich not only your life, but your creativity.
The mission of The Art Institute of Houston and its branch campuses, The Art Institute of Houston-North, The Art Institute of Austin, and The Art Institute of San Antonio, is to provide a quality, collaborative academic environment for individuals seeking creative careers through higher education. As a private, multi-campus college, our bachelor degrees, associate degrees, and diploma programs are competency based, incorporating traditional liberal arts, professional education, and management level competencies with hands-on instruction. Faculty use learning-centered methodology to prepare students for entry-level positions in the design, media, fashion, and culinary arts fields as well as lifelong learning.
