H.E. Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, announced the launch of the new National Strategy of ongoing education of which the Ministry had started this week its execution with cooperation with Abu Dhabi Vocational & Technical Institute to encourage and attract citizens who wish to pursue their basic and secondary education up to university level which enables them achieve the appropriate job which is combined to the required technical and commercial specializations in the work market to be ready to instantly interact with the requirements of the industrial and economic developments which the UAE witnesses at present and in future.

In the framework of this strategy, H.E. Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi, issued a new Ministerial Resolution in respect of ongoing education programs which stipulates that Ministry of Education and Abu Dhabi Vocational & Technical Education Center , represented in Abu Dhabi Technical Education & Training Institute, will handle the task of developing such programs to include the technical and commercial specializations connected to the work market among which are electrical maintenance , mechanical maintenance, maintenance of equipment, welding, fabrication, oil and gas, business administration, facilities administration, projects management, buildings engineering and travel and tourism.

Future Opportunities For Everybody

H.E. the Minister of Education said that the said resolution is made in execution to the directives of the wise leadership represented in H.H.Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the President, may Allah bless him, and H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President. Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai, and their Highnesses members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of Emirates, H. H. General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Armed Forces Deputy Supreme Commander , the necessity to continuously work to uplift the specialized teaching and training systems of all age categories of the UAE citizens, to include the development of the teaching and training institutions and different categories to ensure offering more future opportunities for everybody, especially for those who did not pursue their education or study the fact that we should help them to go back to the education path and in particular those paths connected to work market.

Thus, the Ministry was keen to cooperate with Abu Dhabi Vocational and Technical Education & Training Center to have the effective role with this important age category of UAE sons, taking in consideration that the Center is the main Governmental authority which is handling the process of teaching and training citizens in general and students in particular in the engineering, technical, commercial and industrial specializations in accordance with a special and ever developed strategy.

H.E. Mubarak Bin Saeed Al Shamsi, Deputy Director General of Abu Dhabi Education and Technical and Vocational Training Center expressed his sincere thanks to H. E. Minister of Education for his passing this vital and important Resolution which forms the basis which the national strategy of ongoing education is based on to cope with the directives of the wise leadership and the big and ambitious efforts of the government to open new horizons to all citizens which opens promising opportunities to pursue their specialized education which will in its turn lead them towards the distinguished work in the required fields in the work market in UAE.

H.E. Mubarak Bin Saeed Al Shamsi explained that the technical and commercial specializations which the national strategy of ongoing teaching will concentrate on during the present stage includes eleven (11) majors actually needed by local work market whether in the present stage or in future whereas all the specializations have been designed with full coordination and collaboration with the institutions operating in UAE in the industrial and commercial sectors through which we guarantee granting all students at the ongoing education program so many real opportunities to acquire the required technical skills which eventually will qualify them to get the appropriate job which will have an impressive role in achieving the sustainable development in UAE.

Four (4) Inclusive Levels

Deputy Director General of Abu Dhabi Technical and Vocational Education & Training Center added “ among the advantages of the new national strategy of ongoing education is that it will give the national citizen the perfect opportunity to pursue his specialized education through joining any of the special and inclusive four levels which continues for one full academic year. These levels cover the requirements of the education level of a large sector of national citizens who wish to pursue their education to get the appropriate job immediately after graduation from this program which will open the opportunity to citizens below 17 years old to join where the citizen who completed grade (9) , or equivalent, of the general education which qualifies him to get the certificate of the second level from the National Qualifications Authority in the technical and commercial specializations equivalent to grade (9) to pursue his academic and technical study at the second level which accepts the graduates of the first level or those who have the certificate of grade (10) at the general education or equivalent. The graduate of this level will be awarded the certificate of level three from the National Qualifications Authority equivalent to grade (11) of the general education or equivalent which enables him pursue his academic technical study to join level (3) which accepts the graduates of level (2) or those who have the certificate of grade (11) of the general education or equivalent. During this level, the graduate is awarded the Secondary Technical Certificate, equivalent to the General Secondary Certificate which it enables him get the appropriate job at any of the specialized national and private institutions. Furthermore, the graduate may join university inside or outside UAE which means a new birth for a large number and valuable sector of UAE citizens.

Considering level (4) of the national strategy of the ongoing education, H.E. Mubarak Bin Saeed Al Shamsi said, “ This level attracts the citizens who have completed grade (8), grade (7) and grade (6) where an academic technical program is designed to uplift the students levels to meet the academic needs of the students and enables them join level (1) of the program in accordance with an accurate national, scientific and practical frame through which the national cadre are being created coping meeting with the expectations of our wise leadership”.
